It would have been nice if General Amhearst moved up to AAA or AAAA since they have won AA the last four years or something like that. They are definately one of the top five teams in the province and they have proven enough at the AA level so they should move up. A ton of posters including myself have stated that Eastern Commerce should move up to AAAA. They won AAA last year and to their credit moved up. This is where the size of school doesn't apply as some of the best teams in the province are smaller schools and general Amhearst has had terrific tournament results this season. I am surprised they didn't attempt to move up. They will walk through AA once again.

General Amhearst has way too much depth.

In a championship game, not sure how much depth you need...having Christine Hyde and Michele Asare on the other hand would be very helpful...that is assuming both teams get there...

    I just noticed a repetition.

According to a number of posts, West Toronto is in the AA playoffs. However, the official website for A OFSAA lists them as a participant:

    http://www.ofsaa.on.ca/girlsAbasketball/index.cfm?DSP=Chapter&ID=2975

Are there no A playoffs and West Toronto is simply playing to fill out the AA line-up? Or is there another explanation?

West Toronto is definately A so I believe that they are simply filling out the draw and will be the City rep at OFSAA. Oakwood, Downsview and Vaughn Road are all AA.

I guess the original post on The Hoop-la was wrong. The poster must have meant divison 3 and 4, rather than all of SOSSA.

I've always been very frustrated with the SOSSA website. There is plenty of administrative info but I wish they posted more info on standings, scores, playoffs, etc. A couple of conveners use the new message board but many don't.

I guess I'm just spoiled in ROPSSAA.

    St. Mary's 41, Applewood Heights 32

We threw everything we had..up 6 at the half..but they held us to 5 points in the second half..tremendous defense and timely shooting and we did not respond...great game...our fans were awesome..I wish St. Mary's the best of luck at AAA OFSAA!!

Rimrocker, you have a real grasp of other regions around Ontario.

Is it a given that Ascension will have the #1 seed at AA OFSAA?

As far as I know, a Peel team has NEVER won a basketball provincial championship. I know that the Goetz girls' came close and that the old Malton Westwood boys' teams medalled - can you confirm this?
