Great Programs draw good players, that in itself is recuiting,a poor program can push away good players that want to be challenged at a higher level. These good players then can develop into great players by practicing every day with other self motivated and talented players.
Lots of hard work is put in by good coaches, players appreciate their efforts, the flip side is the weaker coaches that just put in the minimum time into their teams are exposed and players jump ship. These are the same coaches that cry foul everytime they lose a good player by way of transfer.
These players aren't stolen, they are just looking out for their best interests, would anyone complain about a student transfering to another school because of a stronger math program? Hell no! School athletics has way toooooo many restrictions that aren't in the best interest of the student athlete.
Good Coaches like Melnik that go the extra mile to help kids will always attract talent.

Re: Bob Maydo Classic @ Emery
I agree that players go to great programs, because they want the best, and they should.
I never said Henry Carr or EC coaches didn't work hard. They put in alot of time to develop their teams.
They still recruit, from all over Toronto.
I wonder how the Henry Carr coaches feel when their kids go prep.
Slap in the face after all the work they put in with these kids. Then again, aren't Carr coaches associated with CIA bounce?

Re: Bob Maydo Classic @ Emery
Carr is always going to have a solid program, alomg with the Eastern's, Vaughan's, Oakwood's, Pickering's and Mt's. This is what they do. They have strong basketball programs, that will have decent to strong coaches, decent to strong players and trying to continue the cycle by developing younger kids at the grade school level particularly in there geographical areas and some across the city. It happens in every major city, in every sport that is played at the high school level. You can basically just say, its part of the game! Big shout outs to Miquel Martin by the way, who is a phenom iin the making. He put some big numbers up at this tourney and will continue to do so. My suggestions is to play senior youngin!
