Re: TORONTO FIVE-O MajorMidget Boys Tryouts (born 1994 or later)
Thanks for your question and interest in Toronto Five-O.
Teams are placed into 'Divisions' by ranking and seeding committees. Rankings are based on submitted information which includes but is not limited to game results, strength of schedule,etc.. These rankings are issued twice... midway through and towards the end of the season.
Although a team may feel they are of Division 1 calibre, their game results may not necessarily support those feelings. The opposite may also apply, whereby a team may be ranked higher than they thought they would be.
Based on what I saw at the 1st tryout, the 1994 Five-O Major Midget Team should be able to compete in tournaments at the AA+ level and in Division 2 at the Provincials.

Coach Vic

Re: TORONTO FIVE-O MajorMidget Boys Tryouts (born 1994 or later)
That's a good question.
Presently, there are only 2 OBA tournaments posted between now and Dec 12th.
One is in Ottawa and the second is hosted by Motion. We will not be entering either of these tournaments.
The rest of the tournaments take place between March Break and Mother's Day in May. We will play in up to 3 or 4 of those, plus the Provincials to make 5.
Also please be aware that with very limited funds available at Five-O and no financial restrictions placed upon the players, I find it difficult to justify spending $450-$600 for tournament registrations. Exhibition games give a far more economical experience and allow for coaching and practices in between games.
Thanks for your interest in Toronto Five-O!

Re: TORONTO FIVE-O MajorMidget Boys Tryouts (born 1994 or later)
Other than the $20 OBA Player registration, there is no additional fee to play for Toronto Five-O.
23 players came out on Monday and another 11 new players tonight.
Very encouraging.
Next tryout Sunday November 15th @ Western Tech 1pm-3pm.
