New Zealand's Tall Blacks dropped their last game of the Trentino Cup in Trento, Italy, losing 68-90 to Canada. Canada shooting proved too accurate as it landed 57 percent from the field (33/58) and seven of its 14 long-range attempts to pull away from New Zealand to notch its second straight win in Italy.

Tall Blacks captain Kirk Penney (ex U of Wisc) top-scored once again with 14 points while Tom Abercrombie finished on 12. The Tall Blacks remained close until the third period, down just four points, 38-34, at halftime but things quickly got out of hand. "We struggled with Canada's inside game at both ends of the court. They started the third quarter with a zone and we didn't adjust well to that."

A. Rautins had 20 pts (4/6 3pt), L.Kendall had 15 points(6/9 fg), J.Anderson 11 pts, T.Tepkay 10 pts.

It appears Rautins may be maturing as a player. Remember how dad was criticized in the past for his minutes.
