Whose Better in their prime? Kobe or Jordan?

jordan for sure but kobe is close everything jordan did kobe did or will do he still has at least 5 more years thaat ppl will be sayin he is top 3 in the league

yeah i agree but also jordan had a supporting cast w/ scottie pippin, dennis rodman, tony kukoc etc. but who does kobe have? lamar odom and pao gasol cant step up in big games, they havent showed it yett, if mike had a bad game, he would pass to pippin who would make a 3, i still think kobe is better,actually scratch that.... KOBE IS A BETTER ATHLETE in my opinion than mj, athleticism def. helps but after readin everything, i say MIKE

Kobe is a better athlete than Jordan? Try again. MJ is a better athlete Kobe. Lebron is a better athlete then both.

Kobe has the best supporting cast in the League right now. Gasol is far more skilled offensivly than Rodman. Odom and Kukoc have similar games and frames. Yes Mj did have Pippen but Kobe has D Fish, Ariza, Vujacic, Farmar, Bynum etc who are capable of scoring and defending.

Put it this way if you swapped MJ and Kobe in the Houston Series there is no way in hell MJ is playing in a game 6, let alone a game 7. Michael would have led his team to beat the short handed Rockets in 5 games tops. Thats what makes MJ better then Kobe.

Lebron is good but put him a few years back against the detroit bad boys or New york bad boys with oakley he would never be able to get to the rim without being put to the floor.

Jordan is the greatest.

Michael Jordan is better than Kobe. No ifs, ands, or buts about it! Kobe does try to model his game after Jordan, he said it himself and even speaks to MJ for advice. Why should he, MJ is the greatest of all time. He was just a winner. No matter what it took, he would find a way to make his team win. Not saying that Kobe isn’t the same way, but Jordan was just better and more successful at it.
When Jordan was playing, the rules were different. There was a lot more contact back then. Defenders were allowed to push and rough up their opponent. Today the rules put handcuffs on defenders. There is not much defence played in today’s NBA. The way Kobe cries about contact, he would not have had as much success back then.
The one thing that MJ has that Kobe does not is leadership. MJ was able to get his teammates to give it their all. His teammates wanted to play with him and to succeed otherwise they felt like they disappointed him. They did not want to let MJ down. He would get on them and hold them accountable. He wasn’t nice about it. But they respected him that much. Kobe does not have this effect on his teammates this way. They respect his talent but he doesn’t have that mystique about him. His teammates don’t respect him the way Jordan’s would. MJ is by far the better leader.

Jordan was better. Jordan played with legends. He played against Larry Bird, played against Magic Johnson. he played against Charles barkley, and alot more. Kobe doesnt have that much of a challenge. He has Lebron James. Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, that's basically it.

you say kobe doesnt have leadership?? he's only been like captain and the best player presently in the NBA for like the past 5 years.. how can you say that he isn't a leader. These past seasons his assists, ppg and rpg hae improved because he's encouraging other players to take shots. He's making plays and even if they miss still being positive. You can say w.e. you want bout MJ being better but Kobe is a leader on and off the court ( cept for when he almost gor charged for rape )
