NJCAA Tourney MVP DJ Wright, Transfers!!!
After leading Salt Lake Community College to the National Junior College Division 1 Championship this year, Sault St Marie's own DJ Wright, has transferred to JUCO powerhouse, Mt. San Jacinto CC in California. The JUCO National ChampionshipTournament MVP, who averaged over 27 points a game in the tourney to lead Salt Lake CC to its first ever National Title is taking his NBA ready talent for his last year of eligiblity for another National contender. DJ, who also led his team in scoring last year at with 19 ppg, 7 rpg is already getting lots of whispers by NBA scouts and his performance in the NJCAA Championships did nothing but boost his stock even higher. A Grassroots affiliate, DJ played for TAPS under then Ro Russell and had originally signed with powerhouse LSU however, academic ineligibility forced this talent to take the JUCO route successfully thus far. Look out for this NBA ready star in the next few years as he will be making waves this year at the JUCO level at Mount San Jacinto.
