ROPSSAA Tier 1 Playoffs Empty ROPSSAA Tier 1 Playoffs

Post by Peel Fan Fri Feb 13, 2015 9:02 pm

    The qualifiers are as follows:

    NW1: St. Roch 10-0
    NW2: St. Augustine 8-2

    NE1: St. Marguerite d'Youville 8-0
    NE 2: Cardinal Ambrozic 6-2

    SW1: Ste. Famille 9-1
SW2: St. Joan of Arc 9-1 or 8-2

    SE1: St. Francis Xavier 9-1
    SE2: Father Goetz 9-1

The coaches will seed the teams. Only rule is 2 in a division cannot be seeded ahead of 1 in the same division. My guess is the seeding will be:

    1. D'Youville
    2. St. Roch
    3. St. Augustine
    4. Xavier
    5. Goetz
    6. Ambrozic
    7. Famille
    8. JOA

So if that's the case it would be 1 vs 8 2 vs 7 n so on? Xavier playing Goetz is not fair to Goetz is it? Or 2nd in pools facing each other with Augustine vs Ambrozac?

Your guys are sleeping on JOA and Famille..... JOA just beat Applewood by 30+ today where Xavier and Goetz only beat Applewood by 10

Top 3 should be a lock next 5 could be placed anywhere except Famille has to be ahead of JOA and Xavier ahead of Goetz

    Options:

    DYouville
    Roch
    Augustine
    Famille
    Xavier
    Ambrozic
    JOA
    Goetz

Out of curiosity what makes Augustine 3rd seed over 2 division winners.....does tournament finishes matter? Cause hooptown gta rankings shouldn't apply in this matter.....anyone can do a ranking in all seriousness. U mean Augustine lost to a tier 2 team should that matter. Doesn't winning a division give merit?

All I care about is ropssaa finals being at a neutral site for score keeping purposes.

Strength of division.... Augustine is in the toughest division and only lost to Roch by 8 in their last meeting. They lost to a tier 2 team on their first game of the season.

Ste Famille lost to a tier 2 team (Central Peel) as well as Ambrozic (Suzuki)(lost to Flechers as well). Goetz lost to ND Brampton

Xavier isn't the same as shown in the Rimrocker when they brought a senior down; Nova

The seeds will be done by the coaches at a seeding meeting. Tournament results can be considered and not just league results. The only obligation the coaches have, as Peel Fan mentioned, is that a division winner has to be seeded ahead of the 2nd place team in their division. So a 1st place team can be seeded no lower than 7th (assuming 8th is 2nd in the same division) and a 2nd place team can be seeded no higher than 2nd (assuming 1st is the 1st place team in the same division).

The senior who played for Xavier in the Junior Rimrocker is named Avan.

I agree too, Ambrozic as the 8th seed? Maybe Ambrozic wanted d'Y all along.

last time Augustine was at Roch it wasnt a great environment, strong crowd and a 40+ blowout, but at their home they changed that tune and lost by 8..........They almost lost today....JOA came back down 22 in the 4th to pull within 4

one game at a time, it will be a great final if its Roch vs DY

Do not sleep on last years champs Augustine...... it is hard to beat a team three times in the same season... This might be the fourth meeting of Roch/Augustine this year....

Xavier is young... will be in tough against a very strong dYouville team.

All I'm saying is Prime time Augustine won't win they are no where close to the same as last years. ..but the ball can bounce anyway. Jr level if a team is 3-0 they will most likely win again n again.

everyone knows n wants dy vs roch in the final it's the only matchup that will be close
