The team is very stacked. I don't think it's going to be a big problem beating everyone else.

Another convincing win! Ontario led from start to finish winding up with a 94-54 win.

Balanced scoring with six players in double figures.

Nick Lewis led the way with 17, Kevin Pangos and Naz Long had 13 apiece and Negus Webster-Chan, Aaron Best and Anthony Bennett each chipped in 11.

Next up the winner of New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

Coach Clement, who are the 12 best players from Ontario that are U17? So what is the best possible squad we can put together from Ontario. (include guys like myck kabongo, wells davis etc). I'm just wondering the team from Quebec, if those are the 12 best players U17 or if some guys are playing AAU.

Its not surprising that this group is giving everyone a pounding. Give or take a couple of guys, this is the Cadet team that came in 3rd place in Argentina - playing against some of the best in the world.

Not to take anything away from these guys (because they obviously have tons of talent), but there is just no competition in Canada outside of Ontario and maybe Quebec.

If team Ontario could get all of the best players, including the guys that have gone "prep", then this tournament would be a total joke.

What if Ontario got Stefan Jankovic, Duane Notice, Wells Davis, Jermaine Myers, Martin Dixon Green, Myck Kabongo, Richard Peters ... .just to name a few. I'm pretty sure that if the guys I just mentioned made a team of their own, they'd beat the current team Ontario. Now, take the best 10 out of all of these guys and you'd be beating teams like PEI or NWT by scores like 200 to 10.

That is shocking, oh well that's why they play the games I guess.

We've been riding high lately. A little taste of reality is a good thing in some ways.

U17 Ontario team in Canada Summer Games (Aug. 16-22) Empty Ontario vs Nova Scotia

Post by setshot Thu Aug 20, 2009 5:11 pm

    Stats are of interest:
    Ontario N.S.
    Field Goal % 40% 35%
    Free Throws 79% 60%
Rebounds 35 40 appears the difference
    Steals 4 12

When your PG Pangos is your leading rebounder with 9 against NS, not a good sign. J. Alexander, who was second on the U16 Cadet in rebounding, seems to be getting fewer minutes, 16 minutes today vs NS?
