Jermel Kennedy signs with Lander University

Jermel Kennedy has signed a national letter of intent to attend Lander University on a full basketball scholarship. Kennedy, a 6ft-5 sophmore forward, played his 2009-2010 season at Volunteer State Community College in Tennessee where he averaged 11.6 ppg and 8.2 rpg. He played his freshman year at Iowa Central. Lander University is a NCAA Division two school in Greenwood, South Carolina that plays in the Peach Belt Conference. The Bearcats had an overall record of 11-16 and conference record of 5-13 last year, but, are looking to rebuild. Coach Jeff Burkhamer is bringing in a good recruiting class and expects Jermel to contribute right away.
