Actually in the championship semi-final Ty Stewart-Nelson had 29 points. this young kid was an amazing factor in the game. he is a very good shooter hitting 9 threes. This tournement was a good tournement to watch. I was really impressed with the way these kids play

Vaughan SS Junior Classic - RESULTS!! Empty D'Y got SPANKED!! (Twice)

Post by Skeeter Sat Nov 20, 2010 9:54 pm

D'Y did not look to good in losing 2 of 3 games. They got spankied by Vaughn. Vaughn was up by 25 in first half. Then they got torn apart by St. Mike's.

    What's going on with D'Y?

looks like the vaughan mandem trying to run things in ontario bball for the next couple of years, even coming up at junior level they be holding it down

Whats the deal with this school anyways they just creeped into the scene a few years ago and been improving each year, are they just developing own players or are they getting lots of transfers??

How is the coaching there do they got some sick coaches or what??

I dont understand what is your meaning of spanked. Dy lost to Vaughn by 6 points,if Vaughn was up by 25 in the first half how come they only won by 6?
They lost to St mikes by 11 is that also a spank?

This is what a spank looks like Vaughan 75 Markville 21

    JT
Vaughan has definitely showed the last few years that their program is building. I am not sure about the transfer coming in at the jr program but definitely they are competing high as always. The coaching staff also is doing a great job wth the kids.
from what i saw in the semi final game, yes vaughan was up by 20+points, but they also used a lot of their bench also in the 3rd and fourth quarter, Vaughan controlled the entire game. Dy has a nice squad for sure and when their big dude comes back, watch out for them, very athletic.
I think Chaminade was a bit disappointing with all the talks about this school, but hopefully they will put it together this season.
St Mikes, as usual very discipline team and they worked very hard together, R.Case was definitely a player to watch out for

Good luck to all this season and i am looking forward to the Henry Carr tourny

Looking at the results - Westview, Brebeuf and Markville all got beat badly.

Scores do not always reflect how games actually went:

St. Mikes beats dYouville by 11
    Vaughan beats dYouville by 6
......Is St. Mikes better then Vaughan....?

    Westview beats Markville by 15.
    Brebeuf beats Markville by 13
.....Is Westview only two points better then Brebeuf...?

Is Downview only four points better then St. Mikes?

If dYouville was down by 25 points. Why did Vaughan let them back in the game?

It is early in the season. Some teams have players missing due to other sports....Some teams might have injuries.

One more thought: Are the Raptors better then the Celtics....?

Its still early in the season to say who is going to good or not. I think a lot of junior teams get neglected on gym time, but by now all teams should be practising everyday.

Vaughan has had some good teams in the past (not just the last couple of years) they get ALL the players is Vaughan. Alot of their players live in Maple and woodbridge and transfer there early (grade 9)

dY is also missing main players due to injury--> Dishawn Thompson point
and Arron Ariri (6'7). Don't know when they are expected to return

How did Ergas play? I know there was a lot of hype over him

Looks like St. Mikes will have a strong junior team this year

It's obvious that the person with the most insight on Chaminade would be myself. As head coach of Chaminade the previous 4 years my goal was to help build a competitive program. That has obviously been accomplished with a solid starting line up, 4 of which play for Grassroots. The reality is that Chaminade has decided they don't require the assistance of community coaches. This decision was made in October which obviously made it difficult for both parents and players. The main reason the boys are at Chaminade is to focus on becoming better students.

Vaughan did a fabulous job hosting this tournament,it was very well managed. In reference to the hype on Chaminade it's well deserved. In their 1st game against St.Mikes they lose by 2, St. Mikes did an excellent job managing the clock once they got the lead with William and Malik both on the bench in the 3rd. The only game the starters were able to make an impact(due to lack of playing time together) was the Westview game, where they played the entire 1st quarter. No disrespect to Westview but the score at the end of the quarter was 20-0, the starters were shutdown until 6 mins in the 4th. Westview gave a good fight and must be commended for cutting the lead to 7 pts. Jamar had a great 1st tournament both him and William avg 15 ppg followed by Kasey's 14 ppg. Malik did a good job running the point and avg 10 assist for tourney and Jamal lead the team with 4.5 spg.

P.S. A spectator at the end of the game shouted "why are these guys at Chaminade? Jamar's response was "to focus". It's obvious based on his 75% avg that he understands the reason. I've promise the parents that I'll continue to be involved for this year only with the boys progress at Chaminade despite not coaching.

Vaughan is a very strong team, with great coaching and great chemistry in my opinion. Easily one of the strongest Jr teams in the province. Downsview and St Mikes are also very strong and as for D'Youville, missing a 6'7(Ariri) big with lots of potential and a solid player in Thompson, they will be very tough once completely healthy. Father Henry Carr also boast a solid squad so it will be nice to see these teams square off in the upcoming FHC Jr Classic.
