There is suppose to be a U of T tournament the first week of December. Does anybody know the details of this tourny and who is participating? I heard that it is a one day tournament, is this true?

Re: University of Toronto Tournament
Pool A
Eastern Commerce (I will assume their B team because they are already in the MT tournament)
Brebeuf A(Toronto Catholic)
Churchill
Newman
Woodbridge
Liberman
Pool B
East York 1
Northview
Chinguacousy
Parkdale
C W Jefferys
York Mills
Pool C
East York 2 (I assume this is their Bantam team)
Brother Andre
Oakwood (I asume Bantam team because the Junior team is already at the MT tournament)
Harbord
Humberside
Runnymede
Pool D
Brebeuf B
Glenforest (Not sure as they are listed in the Applewood tournament)
Monrach Park
Central Tech
Sandlewood
Central Commerce
Very Strange format with 45 minutes between games so I am assuming shorter times for games and possibly running time. Not sure as it is suppose to be explained when we pick up our coaches packages at 8:00 that day.It is a one day tournament with 5 games in your group with division winners advancing.
I heard from somebody that the University of Toronto players and students are the officials. I really hope this is not true as a tournament should be done with proper licenced officials.
I feel that Sandlewood and Chinguacousy are the favorites to win

Re: University of Toronto Tournament
The officials are indeed University of Toronto players. This is a fundraiser for the team. When I was a player at U of T the games were running time because you played a lot of games.

Re: University of Toronto Tournament
It goes back to when Ken Olynyk was there. Its a Jamboree format.
Lots of "games" in a short time but they are very much shortened. It is hard to get your bench kids in, in this abbreviated format.
It is really more of a fun tournament. Of its kind its fine as long as you know what you're in for. I've considered this format myself.

Does brebuef have a lot of talented players? If there sending out 2 teams I assume they have some very good athletes this year?

Re: University of Toronto Tournament
They beat Cardinal Newman 76-13 in league play which says one of two things, Brebeuf is really good and Newman is really weak. Newman will get throttled all day in this tournament(Pool A) other than when they play Liberman who lost 82-22 to Jean Vanier. Eastern, Woodbridge, Churchill and Brebeuf will take turns beating these two teams badly throughout the pool play.. Lucky for shortened games.
In Pool B,I think that Chinguacousy will win all five of their games and easily win pool B. York Mills and East York will battle for second. Parkdale is Tier 2. Northview is winless this season so far and CW Jefferys is very weak.
In Pool C, it will be Runnymede in a walk. East York 2 and Oakwood are Bantam teams and Harbord and Humberside are Tier 2 teams. Brother Andre is not very strong.
In Pool D, I think that Sandalwood will take the top spot with the battle for second being between Central Tech and Monarch Park. I have read good things about Glenforest but they play in Tier 2 Peel. We(Central Commerce) are a very young team that should be playing Bantam. My players for some reason that only they can explain decided to play Junior so we will be taking our lumps this season. The light at the end of the tunnel is that all of my top players are back in Junior next season and this experience can only help them. My team will be in tough in this division and will look at this as an experience. Hopefully we can start off by beating the Brebeuf B team who is either Bantams themselves or a second Junior team
Semi finals will pit Brebeuf against Sandalwood with Sandalwood taking it
Other semi final will be Chinguacousy against Runnymede in a good match with Chinguacousy taking it
I predict an all Peel final with Sandalwood taking the championship
