While it's unfair to compare to the States but there's some curious things to see in team composition. While this isn't the top notch US U19 players . . .

Everyone on the US is 19 y/o and is playing/will play D1 (High D1 with the exception of North Texas and Butler)
Good size - except PG, but very interchangable and flexible roster.

Canada - lots of 17 and 18 y/o's and mostly playing high school.

JT would be pleased to see Mississauga's reach goes to Serbia.

Sim is 19 and going into his last year of American High School. Hmmmm. Xavier doesn't seem to be such a bad fit - not only has he had the height advantage, but two years on the competition. That's going to be an issue for him in a year's time - but it's good to see he's actually competing with guys his own age.

A question remains - who composed this team? Clearly this is not the best U19 team Canada can produce - even just with CIS talent this team would be better constructed. It's safe to say that Kabongo, Wiltjer and Birch didn't get clearance to play - but the 19 y/o's on this team likely aren't moving up to senior nats. If that would be the case, then get the 17 and 18 y/o talent on the floor. Negus is in the doghouse - which is a shame - he's a stronger talent than Clarke (31% FG and 15% from three!)

If CB wanted to give the younger kids a bit more of a taste, then they should be played. I hope to see the minutes change - even Pangos needs to sit if he keeps shooting under 40 percent.

Good example of why CB is a joke! Some things never change. Why isn't the best team possible being assembled and developed for the future?
