we all know what happened last time these two faced. Laurier won in a SHOCKER by 10+ (dont know the exact score) to take 1st place in the East. So who will it be?

2008 Toronto East Champs (West Hill) or 2009 #1 team in the Toronto East (Laurier)

    ************GAME: Wednesday , febuary 18 1:00pm @ SENECA COLLEGE***************

I believe West Hill will take it. I think so because when a high-ranked team looses to an opponent that is seen to be weaker, the next game both teams are prepared. It will be a great game is this the set finals?

I believe West Hill is going to come out on top in this game. They are just too experienced and talented to lose to Laurier again. Usually, when a weaker team upsets a strong team, the stronger team will be prepared for a rematch.
Plus Laurier only really has one prolific scorer, while West Hill has three.

It will be a close game, but West Hill will come out on top (Don't be too surprised if Laurier squeezes out a win).

    The Question is.........

How will West Hill go about guarding Daniel Mullings????
He is the heart & soul of this team, and when he's hype, a very hard player to stop. The Warriors can't afford for him to go off for 25+ points. They need to play team, hard-nose defense, that they show time to time, with Adrian Tomlinson leading the charge. Great match-up to end off the season in the East.

Laurier will win in a close game. I think they will prove the first victory was not a fluke.

^Seriously, in what world?Laurier only has Daniel Mullings.....No one on Laurier will be able to deal with Alex Arthur in the post and Tomlinson on the wing....If they go zone, WH will rain 3's on them....I honestly believe that this will be a blowout, but hey stranger things have happened....I believe PEARSON beat Laurier?!?!?!

west hill, upsets happen, but rarely twice. who knows though, anything can happen in high school basketball. but i seriously don't think west hill with three perennial (well not really perennial but you get the point Razz) GTA stars, will lose to laurier.

Like DG-10 and I said, Laurier only has Daniel Mullings. He has led his team in scoring for almost all his games. West Hill has 3 dominant players that can score. If West Hill can shut down Mullings, it will be a blowout.
I have seen the tape of Laurier vs Pearson game (which actually got intense in the 4rth qtr ending the game with Laurier having a shot to tie or win) and the reason why Pearson won was because they limited Mullings to under 20 points. Also, Laurier could not stop #30, who went for about 30 points that game.
My point is that if West Hill can play some defence, particularly on Mullings, they will win.

I also watched that game against Pearson, and Mullings didn't enter the game until the 2nd half. Meaning the third and fourth quarter.

Probs to # 30 from Pearson, he was on fire.

Laurier vs West Hill was well played game by both teams. The first quarter was a defensive struggle as Laurier took an 8-2 lead to end the first. Laurier had a slight lead for most of the game but West Hill actually took the lead in the 4rth. West Hill could not maintain their composure in the 4rth as a technical foul was assessed and an intentional foul was called. West Hill also gave up costly turnovers in crunch time. The two teams both fought hard and grinded it out until the end.

I believe that Laurier won because they simply wanted it more. You can't say that West Hill underestimated them because they knew who they were facing, and they played hard. Same thing goes the other way; Laurier did not come in expecting to win just because they won before. Both teams played hard, showing a lot of emotion, and I believe the only reason why Laurier won was because they wanted it more (they played with more heart). It was the loose balls that they dived for, and all the little things that decided the winner.
Congrats to Laurier for fighting hard until the end. They deserve becoming the 2009 Toronto East Champions.
