There were some VERY high quality players who were at the tryout but did not make the final cut!

Final is Canada 99- China 76. An impressive start in spite of all the obstacles!

There was a huge discrepancy in fouls Canada 29- China 15 although the officials evened it up a little at the end.

    France 68 Canada 63

France previously defeated Argentina so they are a strong team. Canada battled back in the fourth quarter.

If I read the schedule correctly Canada will be second in their pool and play the loser of Argentina-Croatia being played today.

We have forgotten about our U17 team:

they lost to USA in the quarter finals 113-59 and beat China 68-64 abd will play for 5th place against argentina or croatia. Appears they have had their ups and downs but playing for 5th is very respectable. Way to go canada. We're cheering for you.

15 year old Justin Jackson was sensational throughout this tournament.

He is close to Andrew Wiggins in potential and a very special athlete indeed! By the way had Trey Lyles and Wiggins played at this level they would have surely medalled and perhaps contended for gold!

We are currently ranked fourth in the world in girls basketball and fifth in boys (in age groups 19-and-under). Canada has great days ahead in international basketball!
