Towards a Junior Super Sixteen Empty Towards a Junior Super Sixteen

Post by Coach Clement Sat Dec 06, 2008 7:13 am

I think there are so many good Junior teams that we should post a Junior Super Sixteen like the Seniors.

    I see things this way.

I will not put numbers because I have to play these teams.

    Top Level (no order):
    Henry Carr A
    Vaughn
    Pope John Paul II
    Eastern Commerce
    Pickering

    Middle Level (no order):
    Richview
    Oakwood
    Mother Teresa
    Henry Carr B
    Notre Dame (Ajax)
    Dunbarton
    West Hill
    St Francis Xavier
    d'Youville

Knocking at the Door (no order):
    St Jean de Brebeuf
    St Theresa Lisieux
    Martingrove
    Newtonbrook
    Brebeuf (TDCAA)
    Jean Vanier

I hope I have not forgotten anyone.

I will leave it to others to rank the teams by the numbers. Smile

The only team that should not be near top 16 is Newtonbrook. We beat them 63-45 last night.

How about D'Youville and Loyola? I do hear rumours that Leger beat D'Youville by 17 in league play but I have not seen a score.

Other teams that could be strong but haven't played any top schools:
    Fletchers Meadow
    Weston
    Bill Crothers
    St Augustine (York)
Probably a couple more from the TCDSB

Why should STL be higher? I think they are in a fair spot right right now. They lost to Xavier and d'Youville, who are both in the second group of teams.

Hold up here a minute. Carr A has not lost and deserves the number one spot, until someone beats them fair and square. It does not matter who is injured and who did not play. Maybe players on Carrs team are injured and are playing through it. Results speak, injuries do not.

    IMO

They are # 1 until someone beats them and then we consider if they should be replaced!

GAMES ARE WON ON THE COURT!

    No woulda coulda shoulda!

    No excuses numbers speak!

I will now give that ranking - Carr is #1.

Henry Carr(1)- beat vaughan, pickering ,and car b

Vaugh S.S (2)- beat Eastern, MT, Pope, Dunbarton, lost to Henry carr by two without most valuable player (cy)

Pickering(3) beat eastern, Notre Dame , Pope, lost to car a as well

Pope(4) lost to vaughan and pickering by a reasonable amount of numbers, Beat richview and West hill ( played Mt tournament without Nick Lewis)

Eastern(5)have lost to pickering, Henry Carr a, Vaughan , have beat oakwood as a top 10

Notre Dame (6) have beat Carr B, West Hill, and Dunbarton for constalation championship , they have lost to Pope and Pickering

Richview(7) have lost to Pope, D youville B team, they beat Brebuf by a fair amount of points ( seem to show a overall good balance and have lots of potential* once they change things up and make GOOD choices on the court they can be a force)

MT (8 ) - lost to Vaughan, STL, and have beaten Dunbarton and Brebeuf

Oakwood(9)- Beat Carr B lost to Eastern (has had a rough start but should get going soon)

Carr B (10)- beat D youville and have lost to Carr A Notre Dame, and Oakwood

West Hill(11)- beat D youville lost to Carr A, Notre Dame and Pope, ( need to be more consistant)

Dunbarton(12)- Have beatean Campion, have lost to Vaughan, Mt, Notre Dame ( have three critical trio with two or three role players that seem to play very well together but sometimes try to play too much one on one and damage their tempo)

Notre Dame may be high but they have great talent, everything else is good.

They will move up if they compete. The season is young! Cool

Eventhough Cy is a great player and obviously has a great cast around him, Carr A should remain number 1 until proven otherwise - ON THE COURT!

They are proven winners and deserve all the respect in the world. It's one thing to play a great team close but another thing to beat them!

I do believe Vaughan is a very strong program.

Do not discount Pope they played without Nick Lewis and other key guys were very banged up in the MT Tournament.

They definitely hung in with Vaughan for much of the game before their injuries caught up with them. I was very impressed! Cool

St Francis Xavier is another team people are forgetting. They have already won a tournament in Hamilton.
