I want to thank Coach Roy Rana and the Ryerson Athletic Department for hosting yesterday's groundbreaking events, and for including the Father Henry Carr Crusaders!
It is an honour to play in the first high school game at the new Mattamy Athletic Center.
I want to wish both the Eastern Commerce Saints and the Ryerson Rams all the best of luck in this upcoming season. From the level of play yesterday, I expect to see big things from the Crusaders, Saints and Rams.
On a side note, being a West-end guy, I always joke with East-enders that "they checked our passports when we crossed Yonge St."
So it was nice to see so many friends in attendance...in fact, there were a couple Henry Carr alumni involved in the events; Rebecca Amo Mensah is a sophomore guard on the Memorial University Women's team and Marlon Redley Smith is a member of the MAC staff.
I hope to see you all at the Early Bird this November 8th, 9th and 10th...
