Re: AA OFSAA 2012
I was told AA by both coaches at the Rimrocker but there is always the chance they changed their minds.

Re: AA OFSAA 2012
TLKennedy lost to Ascension yesturday in an extremely close game.
TLKennedy being a well playing tier 2 school, were up majority of the game. High scoring game, was 87-86 with 20 seconds left in the 4th quarter for Ascension where they clinched the win.
They have 2 solid shooters, who hit big points for them, but the rest of the players are just role players.

AA in ROPSSAA
Ascension beat TLK 91-86 and host Ste. Famille today (Feb 16) for the ROPSSAA AA championship. Ste. Famille beat St. Martin 54-41. TLK was ranked #4 because they were in Tier 2...ROPSSAA tries to get teams that belong in Tier 1 to play there so Ste. Famille (3-6 in Tier 1) and St. Martin (2-7 in Tier 1) got ranked higher for the AA playoffs.
The winner travels to GHAC to play their rep on Feb. 27 for the 1 OFSAA spot given to ROPSSAA/GHAC.

Re: AA OFSAA 2012
ROPSSAA's AAA and AA tournaments work as follows:
All AAA or smaller schools are welcome to apply for AAA. The teams are then ranked from first to last based on their records with all tier 1 teams ranked ahead of all tier 2 teams. (e.g. An 0-7 tier 1 team would be ranked ahead of a 7-0 tier 2 team). The top six ranked teams then make the playoff tournament.
The same thing happens at AA for all teams AA or smaller. The one difference is that only the top four play in the tournament.
Teams may only apply for one level.
There is only one A school competing in basketball (Brampton Christian) so they are automatically the A rep.
The winners of each tournament then play the GHAC winners for a spot at OFSAA.
