Grassroots AAU Tryouts Saturday 3rd & 10th March

It's that time again, the anticipated start of the 2012 AAU season. Grassroots continues to be one of the most recognizable AAU programs in North America. Did you know that both Tristan Thompson and Cory Joesph played for Grassroots? On June 23, 2011,the former Grassroots Canada standouts made Canadian basketball history by both being selected in the first round of the NBA draft lottery. Tristan Thompson, of Brampton, ON, was selected 4th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who utilized their 2nd pick to draft Thompson right after Kyrie Irving. Cory Joseph, of Pickering, ON, was selected 29th overall by the San Antonio Spurs, who used their first pick to draft Joseph.

10U-12U===11:00AM-12:30PM

13U-14U===12:30PM-2:00PM

15U-16U===2:00PM-3:300PM

17U-18U===3:300PM-5:300PM

Despite the fact that we're looking for the best talent across Canada, we encourage all players interest to attend. You'll have the opportunity to learn and compete at the highest level for your age group. Coach Ro Russell will be in attendance to evaluate all players so bring your A game

Good luck to all the players at OFSAA,with your season officially over on Wednesday,you still have a chance to tryout. We had over 120 kids tryout last weekend and despite the negativity surrounding CBC report, our supporters came out in numbers. There's two sides to every story and Coach Ro side of the story would be told shortly. Many of our Alumnus took to twitter to show their support for the man they call Coach Rev. We encourage you to attend tryout with your parents as it's important they are involve with the process.

Great news for all 5th year plays, we'll be attending two live tournaments(NCAA coaches present) in April so you still have an opportunity to play AAU but only for April. This team will consist of only unsigned players seeking an NCAA scholarship. This is not about NCAA only CIS basketball continues to flourish and we encourage you to have your high school coaches reach out to programs on your behalf. Let's all shoot to be Pro Students and work together for a brighter future.

P.S Don't be used by the game, make sure and get your books in order.
