The number of games that are won by 20+ is increasing and I guess that comes with this new format. I have to say though, that the season has surprised me so far (In no specific order).
#1. St. Theresa of Liseux - By no mean am I trying to disrespect them, but I have been fairly disappointed with their play. Their 5th year players were all key contributors last season and were expected to produce much better numbers. The loss of Nana in their lineup will be watched, as he is one of the better players on the STL squad.
#2. Markham District - The recent lost to Laurier in the Prestige tournament has raised some eyebrows, as MDHS is supposed to be one of the top 3 teams in York Region. The recent injuries to Brandon Bos and Mike Forbes, unsure of severity, has brought tremendous pressure upon the MDHS bench and we will see how they produce as the season progresses.
#3. Brother Andre - BA was coming into the season with their heads very high and confident of their team, but with a recent loss to a Stoufville team, it is bringing up a question that was brought up earlier, how much do they miss Kameron Latouche? With the recent loss, I would take them out of the top 6 that I put them in earlier in the season.
#4. Kevin Pangos - From what I've seen and heard, all I can say is, what a talent. When I watched him play last year in the YRAA playoffs, I saw a fundamentally sound player who lead a not-so great Denison team deep into the playoffs. Now as a grade 10, he is playing exceptionally well. At the Maple Classic, by no means the toughest competition, he averaged 34 points in the tournament and received tournament MVP. I can't wait to see how he turns out in a couple years.
Just one man's thought! Feel free to comment.
