Over the 16 years of their existence there has been a strong connection between the SBA and players living in the Durham Region.There have been many many players from the area who have played for the Blues.
Among these are several who gone on to basketball at the university/college and some who have become professional players as well. Among the elite players who have played are: Stephen Lopez(Dalhousie), Troy Joseph (LIU), Mike Filinski (Acadia), Devoe Joseph (Khimik-OPZ Yuzny), Cory Joseph (2012 Summer League All-star team, member of the NBA's San Antonio Spurs), Norman Penola (Centennial College), Isaiah Swaby, MiKyle McIntosh ( Provincial and National team member) and 2012 CCAA Player of the Year Jovain Wilson.
There are other too numerous to mention but the above is a list of some of the most accomplished Blues players who were Durham residents. My apologies to any I may have overlooked.
