AAA OFSAA Basketball Qualifiers

There isn't much on the OFSAA site for AAA basketball, so I thought I would get the ball rolling on here. I have put together what I could find out from coaches in terms of Associations running qualifiers, and who remains in them. If you have any corrections or additions, let me know.

15. CISAA/TDCAA – Vanier
16. SWOSSAA (Host) – Herman

*WOSSA and TDSB (2 bids) are not sending reps. Extra bids go to NCSSAA, GBSSA, and ROPSSAA/GHAC

In Ottawa, NCSSAA, St. Pats has qualified for AAA and Glebe for AAAA. There is a second AAA birth this year for the NCSSAA and West Carleton and Louis Riel are playing off for that birth.

GHAC and ROPSSAA are not playing off this year. ROPSSAA has a direct berth and the representative is St. Roch.

UCC and Vanier in CISAA/TDCAA - Feb 25
West Carleton and Louis Riel in 2nd bid for NCSSAA - Feb 26

SAC/UCC will face Jean Vanier for the CISAA/TDCAA birth

15th and 16th seeds are going to be flipped as Huntsville and St Theresa just played in GB finals and cannot play again in first round.

very interesting seeds. West Carleton has to be one of the strongest 16 seeds in a while. They almost beat #3 St. Pats in the ottawa semis. I am not saying that they will win, because the 16 seed will be a very difficult to win from, but they will be a difficult match up for some of the top teams that should have favourable matchups in the early rounds. I am not saying that they do not deserve the 16 since they lost in the semis and got in because another association did not take their bid and the team they were suppose to play in the qualifier forfeited. Still, they will compete with the teams they have to face!

How is St. Theresa's? Anyone had the opportunity to see them play?
