    Under the radar? Perhaps.

Onkar Johal, a Brampton, Ontario, native has proven to be an exceptional player leaving most coaches with the question of where this kid came from. Johal, coached up in the greater Toronto area, has taken his talents to the next level. He is rapidly joining the likes of other Brampton natives such as a well-known individual by the name of Anthony Bennett, class of 2012 #1 Forward and 2013 NBA draft first round pick (Kudos!). Who else? I know you cannot forget about Notre Dame High School star Junior McLeod who averaged 22.6 ppg at Sante Fe CC, now at D2 Eckerd and was coached by Anthony Cole during his tenure at New Creations Chrstian.

Also under the guidance of Coach Anthony Cole now of Reach International Academy, Johal, a class of 2013 talent, has started to unleash his potential. Averaging 45% from beyond the arch stacked behind a cadre of Division 1 talent, Onkar has proven he is a force to be reckoned with.

Hard-working. Hungry. Energetic. Never quitting. Knowledgeable. Talented. Can a coach ask for much more from a young player? His decision to join the 2013-2014 Reach International Academy Stars elite basketball program will be just one additional step to represent Canadian basketball with great honor. (As a side comment here, I must acknowledge that Reach Prep still has several open positions on the 2013-14 roster. Check out www.reachprep.com or Coach Anthony Cole at 904-314-2344 or Coach Greg Paxson at 317-771-1372 for more information.)

Johal will be a key component of the Reach line-up when the next season rolls around. As a 2-guard his ability to shoot the ball and handle the rock in a pinch will be something to look out for. That, and gifted with his natural length, Onkar is a solid defensive component. Shoulder to shoulder with talent from literally all over the world, Onkar Johal is giving Brampton athletes their props.
