Canada Wins Bronze in Global Challenge

Roy Rana has taken the following to an International Tournament in Portland. The Nike Global Challenge brings together three USA teams and five teams from around the world.

The Canadian team consists of the following:

We defeated Lithuania in our first game and then played USA-1 very tough before going down 96-80. Against USA we were led by Ashton Khan with 16, Alwayne Bigby had 12, Mo Walker and Cory Joseph had 10 each.

We were able to capture a bronze medal by defeating Serbia 83-68. We were led in scoring by Alwayne Bigby with 23, Cory Joseph 19, Mangisto Arop 14 and Tyrone Watson with 10.

Alwayne Bigby was selected to the Tournament All-Star team.

Congrats to Coach Rana and this stellar group of players. A great job of representing Canada in a strong International field!

I don't think this squad had too much time to prepare

Mike Allison (NEDA) was also there but was injured vs. Lithuania.

Nice to see some of the different factions we have involved.

Imagine if we could get all our kids together on one squad.

On all of these teams that are picked to do these special types of games we never seem to have a team of our very best players.
