Re: top 10 teams in durham
Pine Ridge has the potential to be #2, but they are too inconsistent.

Re: top 10 teams in durham
It is a toss up between Notre Dame, J Clarke and Pine Ridge. If you go surely on win-loss records it is definitely Notre Dame, J Clarke and then Pine Ridge. Someone reported that N.D. is 21-1, J Clarke probably has a record of about 15-7 and Pine Ridge is 9-13. Also, ND beat Pine Ridge at the beginning of the season and has beaten J Clarke 3 out of 4 games this year...all rather close games...single digits in all four games.
Then there is the argument of strength of schedule and wins against top opponents. Here is a look at the teams:
Notre Dame is 21-1
Best win: ND 60 Laurier 54
Other Quality wins: Miliken Mills, Markham and J Clarke
Losses: 1 to J Clarke
No wins against top 16 GTA teams, but have beaten some honourable mention teams
J Clarke Richardson is around 15-7
Best win: J Clarke 54 -#14 Pope John Paul 44
Other Quality wins: Ascension and Notre Dame
Losses: 3X Notre Dame, 11 point loss to #9 Campion, 2 point loss to #15 Martingrove, 6 point loss to #5 Henry Carr, and a 10 point loss to #3 Pickering
J Clarke has beaten one top 16 GTA team (Pope John Paul) and one now former HM team. They also played well but lost to some some stronger top 10 GTA Teams.
Pine Ridge is 9-13
Best win: Pine Ridge 55- #7 Campion 49
Other Quality wins: none really unless you count a 15 point over North Albion
Losses: 2X Mother Teresa, 2X Pickering, West Hill, Eastern Commerce, Vaughn, Hamilton Cathedral, St. Patricks(Ottawa), Loyola, Notre Dame, J Clarke and Don Bosco
Pine Ridge by far has the worst win-loss record by a mile. However, they have also played the toughest schedule out of the three teams. They have the best quality win over a top ten GTA opponent out of the three....#7 Campion...a team J Clarke lost to by 11 recently.
Who is the best out of the three? I don't know, but, the playoffs will be very interesting this year. It will be absolute battle over the next two years for those two OFSAA Berths that the Durham REgion has been granted. I'm pretty sure that Durham is hosting OFSAA next year in 2010 so even if Pickering fails to win the 2009 title, it will still be granted two Quad A OFSAA berths. Pickering, J Clarke, Pine Ridge and Notre Dame will battle it out for those spots for years to come.

Re: top 10 teams in durham
For the past couple of years the only AA schools that qualified for the OFSAA Basketball Championships out of Durham are GL Roberts(Oshawa) a number of times and Oshawa Central last year.
