YAAACE Summer Institute and Athletic Development Camp
Throughout the summer we want to create an environment where the student athlete (and non-athletes) can continue to enhance
their academic and athletic capacities while promoting a healthy lifestyle...
For Student Athletes and Non-Athletes:
Throughout the summer literacy and numeracy instructors will be on hand to engage our students academically.
These programs are for students (very important for grade 8s) who are academically at risk or who want to get a head start on the 2009-2010 academic year.
We have York and Seneca/York students and professors alongside teachers from the TDSB to assist you in the development of your academic aptitude and to ensure academic compliance
with the Ministry of Education learning expectations.
We also have art development programs;
Our instructors will be teaching a series of workshops throughout the summer:
For Everyone
Arts and Culture:
-Media Club
-Music
-Art and Graphic Art
-Martial Arts
ATHLETES
Our camp addresses athletes’ at all three stages of the continuum: beginner, intermediate, and elite.
-Fitness Club

-Volleyball
-Soccer
The basketball program employs the development before game play approach...
If you are not willing to work hard to develop fast this is not the program for you;
the coaches that will be invited to work with the athletes in this program are extremely time driven.
Meaning:
They have a lot on their plates, they are very busy coaches some do not live in Toronto ....
In short we do not want to waste anytime in the sessions, thus we only want the serious athletes.
We will have 4 weeks of training and 3 weeks of house-league; the house-league component will serve as an evaluation tool for training outcomes ...
The Fitness Club:
This program is geared towards an overall athletic development.
Goals/Outcomes:
-Speed
-Agility
-Vertical Jumping (the goal is to make a drastic improvement on ur vertical)
-Endurance and Flexibility
Other outcomes are:
Increased physical presence
Increased power in contact
Increased strength
Increased speed
Increased athleticism
Increased sport-specific fitness
