GTA Preseason Activity and 2010 Season Outlook

Any events, programs camps still going on in the GTA?

How do you think the 09-10 Junior Boys Basketball Season is going to play out. Will there be a dramatic change to the Top 10 during the course of the season? Who should we take notice of or who may have surprising sucess this upcoming year. Roster changes (((Guys going down south, TRANSFERS?!? etc.)))

Although it may be to early to discuss these things, let your voice be heard. This is a free open thread revolving Junior Boys Basketball.

I think Oakwood and Vaughan will be really strong. Carr will always be strong and continue there dominance...Downsview looks like they maybe ok too. I like Vaughan though if Henry and Troy stay to help out newcomers Tristan, Shandon and of course Mr. Wiggins!?! Should be some interesting play at the junior level this upcoming season!!! Coach Melnik, good luck on the year!

From what I know Father Henry Carr will still have the strong core from last season's team. Maybe Coach Melnik can help us out on this one.

Yea same I heard that Tyler, Tevin, Josh,Mathewe are coming back from last year

Who will be scooping what Carr kids? Don't worry what Carr doesn't have, worry what Carr does have. We will coach whoever is there and makes the team. knowthegame might not know.

Downsview will be the same team again led by powerhouse micqueel martin but loss of all his role players due to moving to grade 11. Kinda sucks for them becuase has to face emery a team who seems to lost all its junior talent but well coached by coach maydo and newtonbrook a team that beat them this year in north playoffs and seems to be developing strongly year by year. 10th spot I give to underdog newtonbrook

a nice team next year to look out for is st.mary's

Vanier had a lot of good Grade nines last year and Pope has an awesome Gr. 9 class!

I would definitely have to say that both Carr teams will be extremely competitive as usual, as will MT, Pope and a couple of other teams in the TDCAA. Not too sure about St Marys though... I thought a majority of their core was moving up to senior.

Regardless of any of the speculation... it all depends on hard the players are willing to work and learn to become a "TEAM"

I haven't seen Andrew Wiggins play for over a year and only recently heard he had grown to 6'4-6'5. Is his talent at the level that he will be the best one of the best players in the GTA next year, or more along the lines of best grade 9 in York. And if he is that good, will be be making the jump down to the states following grade 9.

He has already jumped to Kiski Prep in Pennsylvania according to reports!

He was likely the best Gr. 9 player in the GTA had he stayed.

No Peel teams? hard to believe. Look out for d'youville, Campion, and defending champs Goetz...... if wiggins is going to vaughan I'm sure he'll jump up to senior.
