    Metro Prep Empty Metro Prep

Post by Respect Fri Dec 11, 2009 8:08 pm

I noticed that they are in the Sr Rim Rocker this year.
    How good is this team?
Will they be able to compete, or are they just there for the "experience"?

Metro Prep can play some ball. They are not very deep, however, they have six guys that can play...including a 6ft-8 center that is 15 years old and in grade 10, two 6ft-3 swing man and a decent point guard as well. In my opinion, they are probably a low honourable mention team on the Top 16 list. They are a school on the rise! Plus they are coached by the probably the greatest high school player in the history of the GTA...Philip Dixon!!!

Nice to hear that Dr. Dix is coaching high school ball, and at a private school at that. I look forward to seeing them play.

Yeah! They have something good going! Richard Audu is a good player and the supporting cast is decent enough to get them by most teams. Metro Prep will catch one of the ranked teams sooner or later.

Six of the Metro Prep players are from Phil Dixon's Wolverines but Anish Bhalla coaches the Metro Prep team.

Metro Prep is having a solid tournament here..they were upset by GW Williams last night 71-70 and are in a dogfight with Sandalwood right now in the 3rd place game up 29-24 at the half...

Metro Prep 60 ND (Ajax) 52
ND (Brampton) 57 Metro Prep 52
ND (Welland) 54 Metro Prep 45

Metro Prep might be the only team in history to play 3 Notre Dame teams in a row.

What the story with this school? Are they running like an American prep school?

None of the players on their Rimrocker roster were older than grade 12. Most were in grade 10 and 11. There was an article in the Mississauga News earlier this month about the connection with the Wolverines:
