Since when is Henry Carr the number one team? Did I miss something? I thought Oakwood was the number one team in the GTA or does that number one distinction mean that Carr is the number one team in the tournament.

There is always good ball in Windsor. The teams out there get up for the games against the Toronto schools. They aren't gonna let the GTA teams come through without a fight. Herman especially has a veteran 5th year team that is looking to put it together and medal at Triple AAA this year. Jordan Gauthier is probably the best shooting guard, small forward outside the GTA.

Good win for Pickering! Two points separated Henry Carr over Eastern and now two points separate Pickering and Carr. That 50th annual St. Mikes tournament is going to be something special! Wow! Kaza Keane, the tenth grader got the MVP award. He's done really well for himself this year.

Jordan Gauthier is the best SF outside the GTA. There are many looking at this player. Great player and great guy. It will be interesting to see who he signs with D1 or CIS
Travis T, Matt Nuna and Nick are also getting many offers. Lots of talent in the Windsor area.

I had the opportunity to see the Semi-finals and Finals game. Henry Carr gift wrapped that game for Pickering in the final 2 minutes. Big game on Pickering's part tho for taking advantage of those final moments. But after seeing this game i definitely think Henry Carr's point guard Shane Reader is one of the premier point guards in the province. Just my opinion...

I agree D1!...not taking anything away from Pickering, because they shot 3 for 3 from the field to win the game in the last 2:11. We definitely played out the last 2:11 in poor fashion, and I take a big responsibility for that. When we are up 5 with possession of the ball, I expect better decision making from my team and from myself. I feel like I let the team down.

I did not see Shane play before he became a Crusader, but I think he has improve immensely from September and I agree, he is definitely one of the premier point guards in the province.

Congratulations to the Pickering Trojans entire team, Coach Gordensky and his staff, but especially to Kaza Keane. He has really grown as a player and as a leader in 2 short months.

Coach Melnik - you should never feel like you've let your team down as you can only do so much as a coach - don't forget that once you have "instructed" your players, it is up to them to make the right decisions and choices on the court as the ball is "in their court". You are a great coach and it is evident in your team's standings. I would like to congratulate you and your team on making it that far in the tournament. Henry Carr and Pickering are two very good teams and you just never know what will happen when they meet each other on the court. You have great basketball players and I am sure they will continue to make you proud. Remeber to Never give up-Never back down and Never lose faith. Have a blessed one!!

    Coach Melnik,

You have a great team. We took advantage of a few miscues and won a terrific basketball game. My kids never quit, even when we were down late, and made some big plays to get the W, and I am very proud of their effort and determination.

Congrats on a great year so far, your record and accomplishments speak for themselves this year.

Good luck in Tennessee, I know you will represent GTA and Canada very well.

Thanks Coach. You also have a great team. I wish the miscues didnt happen but your kids took advantage immediately. A three, a two..and the game is tied. And then the game winner by an unsung hero.

Not only did your team not quit and play well down the stretch, but like I said to you, your defensive call on the last possession was perfect.

I dont think anyone will be taking Pickering lightly. If they do, they will be in for a long game. They may be young, but they are really coming into their own!

Thanks for the good wishes Gordo. We will do our best.

There may be a few kids missing from a few teams, but the kids remaining are doing a wonderful job with their respective teams.

    Coach Melnik,

I appreciated when you brought your team down to the US last year (the Arby's Invitational?) and you posted links to live score updates, video feeds, etc. Would you mind doing the same thing again this year?
