I was really impressed with Notre Dame performance in the Hoops for Haiti Event. They are way better than their record suggests. Notre Dame really played Mother Teresa tough! However, I think that Pickering is a little to tough for them. Notre Dame is disciplined, well coached and athletic but Pickering has those elements as well. I believe that Pickering will win over Notre Dame.
The semi-final between J Clarke and Pine Ridge will be all out war. That game could go either way. They played twice for the year....Pine Ridge won the first game by 14 and then they played two weeks later and J Clarke won by 3. Both teams have beaten some good teams this year. J Clarke has defeated Pickering, Henry Carr, Vaughn, REDA and D'youville. Pine Ridge has defeated Eastern Commerce, Mother Teresa, Vaughn and J Clarke. Who ever plays the best on that day will win. The team that plays a complete 32 minute game will win....the team that defends better and shots the ball well will win.
If Pine Ridge shoots poorly from the foul line like in the first two games against J Clarke, then this might be the deciding factor in the game. Pine Ridge shot 12-29 against J Clarke in their 14 point win and 17-41 in their 3 point loss. I believe you can't shoot that poorly and beat J Clarke right now...they are a better team than in early December when they last played.
As I said before, it can go either way between J Clarke and Pine Ridge. Regardless, Durham Region will be well represented at OFSAA. You have 4 good teams vying for two spots out of LOSSA. Whoever qualifies can medal at OFSAA or possibly win it all if they can get hot.
