OSHAWA FRANCHISE 2011/2012 SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS.
For Immediate Release August 15, 2011
(OSHAWA, ON) The NBL Canada has released its 2011/2012 season schedule today.
All 7 teams play a 36 game schedule consisting of 18 home games and 18 away games.
The league will open the inaugural season on Saturday, October 29th , 2011 with a matchup
between the Quebec Kebs and Moncton at Laval University.
The Oshawa franchise is pleased to announce that they will open the season away on Sunday,
October 30th against the Kebs also at Laval University. 7 of the team’s first 10 games are at home,
including games against the Saint John Mill Rats, the Kebs twice, London, and Halifax and The
Island. Their first home game(General Motors Centre) will be against Moncton on Thursday,
November 3rd, 2011. Conversely, 6 of the team’s last 10 games are away to finish the season.
They play a total of four back-to-back sets. Their first set of back-to-back games is on Friday,
November 18th, 2011 and Saturday, November 19th, 2011 where they play a home and away set
against the other Ontario NBL Canada team, London. Their longest home stand is 4 games, from
Saturday, December 22nd , 2011 to Friday, December 30th, 2011 when they host The Island,
Moncton and Quebec and includes a Christmas Eve game on Saturday, December 24th 2011 against
Halifax, all at the GM Centre. There are two occasions where they play a season-high 4 straight road
games. The first one is from New Years day, Sunday, January 1st, 2012 to Friday, January 20th, 2012
and the second is from Sunday, February 19th, 2012 to Friday, March 2nd, 2012 to close out the
season. The team’s schedule also includes three 3-game home stands. The first one is from Monday,
November 14th 2011 to Friday, November 18th, 2011. The second one is from Friday November 25th,
2011 to Tuesday, November 29th, 2011 and the third one spans from Thursday, February 9th, 2012 to Wednesday, February 15th, 2012.
