More importantly, why is St. Martins in this tournament? Is it an ego thing in response to being basically a non-entity in ROPSSAA this year or are too many high level tournaments telling their prep team to take a hike and giving the spaces to teams that are actually eligible for league play.

You know, real high school teams.

Said it before, non eligible players should not be competing in any competition vs high school teams who have eligible players. some schools have transfers that sit out of the regular season games, but are able to play in 8-9 tournaments. thats like at least 25 games. What is stopping a kid from attending a school, play in tournaments and then the next year he is eligible. Marcus Hanson did this at Carmel as well, and Carr and Eastern do it all of the time. If I was a smart coach, Id recruit the top grade 10's, stick them in tournaments for their grade 11 year and have them all eligible for grade 12 and 5th year. OFSAA or someone needs to make some changes, blatant disrespect for the spirit of the eligibility rules.

I meant to say that why is St.Martins competing at a B-level tournament?

Should they playing in A or Elite level tournaments, and playing against prep teams such as CFCA, Oak Hill, REDA, St.Benedict's, Findlay, etc..?

If there so good, they should of drop ROPSAA in the first place and play all-year ball, playing tournaments in NPSAA, US, and worldwide!!

OFSAA can't do anything as they have no authority over games that aren't part of the process of qualifying for their championships. However, individual regions can do something; just like LOSAA did recently in shutting down the recruiting pipeline certain schools used in brining in transfers and giving them 35-40 tournament and exhibition games. Having talked to some of more former coaching colleagues, it is a certainty that this is going to be discussed at the AGM next spring. My guess is that they will shut down the ineligible players.

Please do not put Carmel in the same category as Eastern, Carr, and 2011 St.Martins. Marcus was not recruited to come to Mount Carmel. They DO NOT RECRUIT and have never recruited 5 5th year players to try and create a powerhouse. And neither do they recieve basketball transfers every year. 1 ineligible transfer ever in the last 12 years (as long as I have been following Carmel sports).

Bethune Bears defeated Brebeuf College 69 to 68 in the Consolation final.
St. Martin was leading Western Tech in the second quarter.
Perhaps Coach Sanders can fill in the rest of the game results.
Thanks to Albert, Oneil and Ben for a great tournament.
