Board - 2 comments about Kentucky not making the tournament:

1. College bball has and is quickly going to a state of parity at least between the BCS leagues and teams and the mid-majors. The wealth of talent is making an impact at the mid major level and will continue to do so.
2. The best recruiting classes don't necessarily make the best teams. Losing 5 starters to the nba is hard to absorb into a new system with new players, however good they are.

Board - I wonder in hindsight if Kentucky was the right choice for Kyle Wiltjer? Two years ago he was a blue chipper 5 star recruit, along with 5 other 5 star recruits Kentucky nabbed. He has played in every game this year but doesn't start regularly. With potentially only one Kentucky player heading for the draft (Noel) and another very strong recruiting class I wonder if Wiltjer will make a move. The reason why I raise this is that I am a bit fascinated by the whole juggernaut of recruiting but fewer people esp in the media report on the outcomes, other than this or that 5 star is one and done., the mock drafts, the freshmen, etc Anyway, I see Wiltjer in a position of becoming a role player at Kentucky - if he wants more, he'll have to make a decision. If he improved his conditioning and defense he's a perfect Gordon Haywood type.... Just some ramblin thoughts on the cusp of spring...
