Re: top 24 jr team in ontario
Yes the winner will probably be Henry Carr but it will be very exciting to see.
Here is my opinion of the top 24 teams in Ontario (NOT IN ORDER)
Fr. Henry Carr
Sir Allan Macnab (Hamilton)
St. Michael's College
Jean Vanier (Richmond Hill)
Ste. Marguerite D'Youville
St. Edmond Campion
Vaughan S.S.
Oakwood
UCC
Emery
W.L. MacKenzie
J Clarke Richardson
Holy Trinity (Oakville)
Loyola (Mississauga)
Mother Teresa
St. Francis Xavier
St. Roch
Notre Dame (Ajax)
Martingrove
Pope John Paul II
Pickering
Ajax
Bill Crother
Pine Ridge
Neil McNeil
I believe most of the top teams are within the GTA

Re: top 24 jr team in ontario
Shane James and company who is a respected teacher at Thornlea is running an all-Ontario championship.
If you were truly involved you would know that.
Stay away from high school basketball.

Re: top 24 jr team in ontario
I would not say that he teaches at Thornlea and respected would definitely be an overblown statement.
Just Ask the other teacher coaches that have lost players to S.James Thornlea team. How many of his players are actually eligible to play in sanctioned OFSAA tournaments or at his league level???
You should know better, ALWAYS The TRUTH. If you were truly involved you would know that.

fifty cents
I am involved. Sorry, about my "overblown statement." He is a respected teacher at the school he teaches at and yes he does not teach at the Thornlea but he did last year. He teaches at another school and he is a respected teacher there.
I know some schools have problems with him as a coach (like Vaughan) lol but it doesn't take away from him being a respected educator.
You are right about the ineligible players but my point was that here is a teacher/coach running a junior all-ontario championship and a crook CMSPORTS trying to do the same. Hhmm, which one would I participate in.
Fifty cent, thank you for helping with the correction

why do schools have a problems with this?
recruiting is part of the game? does it matter where a coach teaches?
im an athlete of a different sport and i want to play the best and i dont care where it comes from or who brings it. teachers and coaches get in the way of improved competition schedules because they study too much policy.
i watch a ton of highschool basketball and glad junior teams are getting an OFSAA style championship.
never understood why OFSAA treated juniors so different anyway especially with talent coming in younger and younger.
their fault others have to go off on their own and build a tourney.

OFSAA does not offer any team championships at the junior level.

Re: top 24 jr team in ontario
The D8 league in the K-W-Cambridge area has 3 very strong teams this year, which are the top 3 teams in CWOSSA --- and warrant consideration for an "Ontario list" given wins over top 3 GTA teams:
St. Mary's (Kitchener) - has defeated St. Mike's (Toronto) in tournament play.
St. Benedict (Cambridge) - has defeated Jean Vanier (RH) in tournament play & UCC in tournament play; also lost to Jean Vanier in OT at the Ontario All-Catholic last weekend. Beat Cardinal Newman (#1 Hamilton Catholic) at the All-Catholic as well.
Resurrection (Kitchener) - has defeated St. Benedict in league play; lost to Oakwood in George Brown College tourney final.
