Is this draw a joke...? Seems a little strange....

The pools are so unbalanced.... The two host schools have very easy groups....especially Pocock... The three weakest teams might be in the same group....? Why?

Whoever wins the blue pool 2 (probably Augustine) will have a very easy semi final game.

The winner of gold pool 1 (campion ????) will most likely get d'Youville.... Why would campion do this? It looks like Pocock is running this tournament....

Campion and pocock also have the best schedules.... No big breaks between games.... And a big break before the semi finals....

Why is applewood traveling to Brampton? And Brampton centennial traveling to play at pocock...?

Weird pools and schedule......

Definitely a very unbalanced draw. The 3 weakest team in the same group? Really? How does that make sense.

Who every gets that semi finally will win by 30+ and will be fresh for the finals. Which means they will probably win the finals. As d'Youville and Campion ( with all their ineligible players) are going to kill themselves against eachother. The 2 best will meet in the semis?

Don't count out Augustine they are the defending champs of this tournament and of their league.... But I agree with you that Augustine will breeze to the finals...

Mu2, campion has a poor league record; what makes you think their team will be better than the team they had at the rimrocker?

They did well at the Rimrocker, loss to Pickering by a basket and Martingrove in OT.

Poor league results because of ineligiables.

Still terrible draw

The two host schools traditionally take the two 8:00 am games in the tournament. I think the reasons are obvious.

I think BCSS looked great winning their tournament this weekend, and Cardinal McGuigan has defeated the likes of Pine Ridge this season. It is perhaps too early to proclaim anyone as being the semi-finalist.

Should the semi-final be against Pocock, the Pirates have had their moments too: nearly beating West Humber and being even against Ascension through three quarters. There are no guarantees in Jr Boys Basketball, as Augustine learned earlier this season losing to a Tier II school. This despite their two league wins over Campion and a win over Rimrocker bronze medalists Kilmarnock.

There are numerous factors that go into making a draw such as accommodations for times and locations. I think it is an exciting draw, with a potential for a final between the defending champs and the tournament favourites. If it is even half as good as last year's Augustine-Bill Crothers final, then we are in for a treat.
what draw would make it better from the teams listed?
First of all the teams should be somewhat seeded. It makes for a better tournament. In pool play and especially in the semi finals.

In a 12 team tournament the groups should be

Seed 1
Seed 8
Seed 9

Seed 2
Seed 7
Seed 10

Seed 3
Seed 6
Seed 11

Seed 4
Seed 5
Seed 12

The winner of the first group plays the winner of the last group

The winner of group 2 plays the winner of group 3

If in a perfect world the semi finals would be:

Seed 1 vs. Seed 4 and Seed 2 vs. Seed 3

How can say it is too early to proclaim anyone as being the semi-finalist and then in the message write.........

I assume you are talking about a possible Augustine vs. either Campion/d'Youville final....

You just made a prediction about the FINALS........

If Campion or d'Youville are the favourite.... That means Pocock, St. Martin or Meadowvale are one of the top three teams...

I agree with you that Augustine is a very good team... that must of played terribly against that Tier II team.

Dyouville is winning this. .....they are hot n winning big. ....closest game was 6 pt win vs Roch at rimrocker finals. .....they are 11-0 past two tourneys. .....only thing being an issue is 4 games in 1 day......Augustine could be in the finals n dyouville could win that by 15+

I don't know how you can say that the pool is unbalanced. I don't think its crazy to think:
Semi 1: Aquainas (spoiler team) and D'Y (favorite)
Semi 2: Pocock and Augustine (This will be a blow out game)

Finals: D'Y and Augustine

OK excellent idea, now try and rank these teams based on overall season, not that easy. Also when you rank youre bound to piss one or two off because they view it as disrespect. I do think that one pool is soft as hell considering 2 of them are winless in their respective divisions. I wouldve put Centennial in that one for St Martin but whats done is done and i know it wasnt easy for Campion to do this, but they did so hopefully there will be good basketball

Before commenting on teams and ineligible players get your facts correct!! D'youville has always played fair junior team=junior players.

I would love to see if Aquinas can play to their potential and possibly pull off an upset.

I am sure Campion will bring their best to their own tournament.

Pocock should be able to get to the semi finals as well.
