Tracking the OFSAA qualifiers Empty Tracking the OFSAA qualifiers

Post by Xavier Rimrocker Tue Feb 24, 2009 9:24 pm

Much like we did with the girls season, I thought I would start a thread to track which teams have qualified for OFSAA or the regions that had narrowed their choices to a few teams. Below is a list of what I have found with a short search on-line. If anyone can add teams, please feel free to post replies and I will update the first post. If you prefer, you can send them via e-mail to xavier-rimrocker@hotmail.com as a few people did back in the Fall.

Please note, this is not a prediction thread. Only post teams you know have qualified or the names of those few teams remaining in a league.

TEAMS IN ALL CAPS HAVE QUALIFIED.

    1.
Martingrove vs. Emery (there not both safe yet)

If Martingrove loses= Laurier vs. Martingrove (Backdoor game to OFSAA)

If Emery loses= Western Tech vs. Emery (Backdoor game to OFSAA)

    2.
Wow look at Toronto Catholic---Henry Carr vs. Mother Teresa (both could win OFSAA, but one wont make it)

    3.
I Hope Pickering's WILL end of going to OFSAA---Rob G. and Johnathon T. didnt cheat for an advantage on Ontario teams....their Coach chose to play an ineligable player IN ANOTHER COUNTRY!!

While I appreciate all the assistance, could posters please read the original post first. Many of the teams you are listing are already on the list. Also, some of you are writing teams that you beleive will qualify but have not qualified yet. This is not a prediction thread.
EOSSAA (2): Perth & St. Joseph's
The qualifying tournament isn't until the 26th and 27th. There are six teams in the tournament.
GHAC/ROPSSAA (1): St. Thomas Aquinas
They still have to play Ascension.
LOSSA/YRAA (1): Sutton
They have to play the LOSSA rep.
NOSSA (1): Widdifield or St. Basil's
There will be four teams at the NOSSA qualifier this weekend.
NWOSSAA (1): Churchill
The Thunder Bay winner still has to play Fort Frances.

Post by tex Wed Feb 25, 2009 10:05 am

Semi Finals for the GBSSA Championships are being played today.

    AAA

    St. Joe's (Barrie) vs. Huntsville
    Orillia District vs Midland

Finals tomorrow should be St. Joe's vs Midland

    AAAA

Collingwood vs Joan of Arc (Barrie)
Nantyr Shores (Innisfil) vs Innisdale (Barrie)

Finals Friday - these are all toss ups.

    Correction:
SWOSSAA AA qualifiers could be either Leamington or Forster
Leamington 10-0 regular season Forster played up regular season....will more then likely meet in AA playoff final. Will see how play offs go on thursday to see who meets up in the finals
Both Forster and Leamington have amazing centers/forwards and pg's. Ali Haidar 6'8 ?, Kyle Osborne- Forster Blake Pauls 6'10, Andrew Malott- Leamington

So Leamington and Forster are definitely the two finalists for the AA berth or are they the favourites among the remaining teams?

This is just for listing teams that have qualified. You might want to wait until more teams have qualified before making predictions. A week ago, some people might have predicted Assumption, Central Commerce or Oakwood to win a medal at OFSAA.
