Just wanted METRO to know that there is a HUGE talent in the west end- Oakville at Loyola Catholic school a grade 9 senior starter PETER RUSIC 6'3" and plenty of growing to do yet, who is the leading scorer on the Halton champs and I know Halton is not as strong as TO but fellas check this out : he gave Assumption of Burlington 28 last Friday that features Chadrack Lufile 6'9" Univ Pitt recruit and Trevor Williams one the better guards in Ontario , in fact RUSIC rolled off 17 straight buckets for his squad from 2 min left in the third to 3:30 in the fourth , it was one of the great performances of any high schooler ever in a title game let alone a 9th grader !! This kid will be one of the greatest high school players ever in the history of Ontario hoops , and if he gets to like 6'8 " then LOOK OUT they may have to change the rules ! They got blown out by Pickering (26 pts) in an early Dec tourney when he was the 6th man on his team but he dropped 21 to serve notice to everybody to watch out !!!

I think you meant 17 straight points. If it was 17 straight buckets he would have had atleast 34 pts.
Peter Rusic is good. Ive seen him play once or twice. From what I have seen he is just a pure shooter. He is a zone killer! So if assumption sat in a zone I can see why he dropped 28.
To say though he will be one of the greatest players in Ontario ever is a stretch. He still has alot of High School basketball left. There has been alot of players who can put the ball in the basket. Lets see what he does in his senior year.

Self-promoting yourself really doesn't help get you to where you need to go. Improvement and constantly working on your game is what will take you there.
And, the reason I say self-promotion, is because of this thread on NBADraft.net -- http://www.nbadraft.net/node/4117
If he's your friend, you're not helping him out by promoting him all over the net. If you're him, again, stick to your game, stay grounded, and work on your game non-stop.
While a 6'3 grade 9 player seems tall to many in Canada, believe me, its quite normal down in the States.
Also, just because you receive FedEx packages from coaches, they send out anywhere from 100, and some up to 2,000, or more.
Best of luck. Just stay focused, and keep your academics in check. Without them, Rusic will just be another good player at the Y.

If this kid is 7' and in grade 10, I guarantee he'll have a better HS career than zonekiller!

Being close to 7' tall at 15 years of age is not easy. In fact, "big men" develop at a much reduced rate compared to smaller guards and forwards, in terms of coordination, hand and foot quickness, stamina, conditioning, strength, and skill acquisition.
Sim is working very hard and has shown significant development in most areas since he has been a Crusader. We expect him to continue to grow and develop and catch up to the smaller players.

The footer on Henry Carr just looks like his conditioning is not there. He'll work on that. He looks coordinated and has decent hands. Who knows maybe he has a growth spurt and slims down and is the next NBA prospect lol.

You're right coachm. It takes time for the big men to develop and catch up to their length because they are growing so rapidly. Conditioning will come with time. All long as he is athletic and coordinated everything will fall into place.

Coach Melnik just curious if you will be using him against Maurice Walker on Monday.. Do you think he can keep Maurice Walker down to a low scoring game?? and also do you think he will become as dominate as Maurice Walker when he reaches into his 4th year??

If there is anyone here who is friends with this kid, or if he is a member of the site, there is one piece of information I give. Do well in school, don't go down to JUCO and don't stay a 5th year, otherwise your talent will go to waste.

It's funny how this thread was possibly started by self promoter looking for the limelight and has become more about a humble 7 footer. It just goes to show you, if you've got game, your game will speak for itself.

Being "all that" in grade 9 doesn't translate to being a superstar in grade 12 either. I've seen it all the time over the years.
Some start early, some get their act together later. Let the serious player remember the academic part too because without that, you're going nowhere.
