Cory Joseph did some amazing stuff this weekend at the Junior Provincials.

First he led our Blues team through a game on Friday where we only five players against a top AAAA London Orion team scoring 35 in the key game for our gold medal.

He absolutely showed the way for all of us in doing everything you could ever dream a point guard could do. I have coached some outstanding ones over the years trust me!

In our key semi-final matchup he took on the best shooter in the Province and completely shut him down while scoring 23 himself including the game winner.

In transition I have never seen anyone quicker with the ball in his hands!

He is in my opinion the consumate point guard!

Someone in the U.S. is ranked ahead of him at PG I will reserve judgment! Shocked

I was referring to Brady Heslip. If not the best he is definitely up there.

I was there at the Blues pool play game loss against blessed sacrament. The Blues left Brady wide open and he went off. I couldn't make the semi-final game but I can rightly assume the Blues adjusted and shut that boy down. Very Happy

I truly enjoyed watching Cory and company.
Mo was outstanding...can anyone stop him? Good luck to all those boys....they are a class act!

That's how it happened basically. Cory was a little banged up but asked to guard Brady.

Brady was kept off the scoresheet and Blues-1 moved on to the final. Cory contributed in every aspect of the game. No question, his game has improved since his tenure at Findlay.

Mo was unstoppable throughout except when opponents were allowed to tackle him without fouls being called. Sometimes he scored anyways.

Yes, Mo was frequently seen with a few players hanging off his back with no call made. He made some older "elite" college/CIS bound players look rather ordinary but the big man never gets the call it seems. It's hard to believe but this young man will only get better as he has more time to develop before college.... Shocked

Yes he is heading down with a plan. He is hoping to improve his explosiveness and conditioning. His second and third jump. When he does, LOOK OUT!!!

He is a wonderful kid and we all hope the best for him. He is the youngest player on our team.

A couple of years ago I wrote on this website, how... a) I felt Cory had more upside than Devoe... and... b) I also said how Cory's game is similiar to that of Leandro Barbosa... and if I recall correctly, I took a lot of gripe for those comments.

I am not at all surprised with the success of Cory. I hope he continues to work his A$$ off and becomes the best point guard coming out of Canada since "Kid Canada".

Coach Bob... I will "hang up" and listen to your comments. Very Happy

Looking forward to following Cory's career and if Devoe can elevate his game another couple of notches.

I watched Corey play for Grassroots in North Carolina and he is pure niceness. Butter smooth, smart, athletic, fearless, and a great defender too. Looks like he has League potential. A joy to watch both him and Myck Kabongo. Mike is more raw energy, hustle and heart. Fantastic back court.

The 2K website does not even show Cory in the Top 50 of 2010.

Is there a reason or is it an oversight (albeit a pretty big one)?

No doubt, for those that haven't seen Corey in a while, he has developed into an extremely talented player.

I have the pleasure of Coaching him with Grassroots Canada AAU, and Corey is lighting quick running up the floor with a sticky handle and is a knockdown/pure jumpshooter. The fact he is a bulldog defensively that can lock people down makes him a complete player!

He is one of those guys that plays so hard on both ends of the floor without taking a play off that it's tough to take him off the floor. Very solid player that deserves to be one of the top ranked players in North America!!
