Hello ladies:
Toronto Triple Threat is holding free tryouts for its Junior U19 team (born 1991 or later) on September 13, 2009 at George Brown College Casa Loma (142 Kendal Avenue) from 11:00 am to 1 pm.
We are looking to fill out our roster. We are interested in players born 1990 or later (ie. 1991, 1992, etc.) at any position, but with emphasis on young posts and young lead guards who will stay with the programme for a few years.
Toronto Triple Threat is a competitively-priced, adidas-sponsored team. Its mission statement can be located at www.torontotriplethreatbasketballclub.com. We finished with the silver medal in 2007, the top 8 in the province in a 2008 rebuilding year and our two junior teams in 2009 finished in the quarter finals of Division 1 at the Provincials and with the silver medal in Division 2. We place a heavy emphasis on skill development and competition. Your registration fee provides for uniforms, four OBA-season tournaments (including a US NCAA-sanctioned tournament in April), one NCAA-certified Canadian recruiting event and the Provincial championships. Past graduates of our programme have eventually gone on to play at NCAA D-1 schools such as Loyola, Kent State, Western Michigan, University at Buffalo, Niagara, Howard, and Canadian Institutions such as Sheridan College, Western University and Queens University.
Our team goals are:
1. To be capable of playing basketball at the university and college level
2. To develop athletes' mental and physical skills
3. To learn to compete with intensity and sportsmanship at every event
4. To consistently challenge ourselves to be better every day
Our tryouts will continue every Sunday at George Brown Casa Loma (142 Kendal Avenue) on the following dates:
September 27, 2009
October 11, 2009
October 18, 2009 (if necessary)
Hope to see you on the 13th.
