The Juvenile Development Program (JDP) is designed to develop athletes in preparation for the next level of competition including the provincial and national team programs.
The program is run as a four stage process.
Stage 1
Open tryouts will be held in the region in which the athletes live. There is a $25 fee for the tryout and each athlete will receive a Nike Elite Development t-shirt and the opportunity to tryout with other elite athletes in the region
Tryouts will be on:
May 25, 2010 (6:15PM-8:00PM) Vaughan S.S.- This tryout for 1994 born athletes only.
June 1, 2010 (6:15PM-8:00PM) Vaughan S.S.

Stage 2
A number of athletes selected from the open tryouts will be invited to a final tryout which again is hosted in the region which the athletes live. At the conclusion of this tryout 15 athletes will be selected to represent their region
Stage 3
The 15 athletes selected to represent their region will train together for 15-20 hours leading up to the final stage. At some point within this period three athletes will be identified as alternates. All training will also take place within the region the athletes live.
The cost for this will be $450.00 and this will include food and accomidations at camp, a Nike/OBA reversible jersey and a pair of Nike/OBA shorts.
Stage 4
The final stage of the Elite Development Program consists of all regions coming together for the final camp where the athletes will receive exposure to elite coaching drills and team concepts. In addition to some game play, the athletes are exposed to guest sessions performed by keynote speakers from the basketball community, ranging from National team coaches to strength and conditioning specialists. The camp dates and location are identified above.
