2010 Xavier Lady Rimrocker

Date: October 13-15 (Round robin on Oct 13 and 14; playoffs on Oct 15)

Location: St. Francis Xavier SS and Our Lady of Mount Carmel SS

Number of Teams: 16

Format: Four groups of four teams each; three games minimum guaranteed; teams play all three games at same school

Playoffs: Division winners advance to championship playoffs and division runners-up advance to consolation playoffs (at Xavier)

what teams are confirmed?

I received a couple of e-mails from coaches who wanted to enter but who were worried that their teams weren't strong enough. Please note that, unlike the Junior Rimrocker, this is not a tournament for elite teams only. There are teams that will qualify for OFSAA but there are also some teams who are rebuilding this year but are looking for a challenge.

A quick question for coaches: Are a lot of regional conveners very inflexible when it comes to game changes?

In ROPSSAA, coaches are free to re-schedule games by a specific deadline as long as both coaches agree and the host gym is free on the new date. Is that not the case in other regions? if so, that's a shame as it will make it harder and harder for teams to compete in tournaments.

The reason I ask is that a number of teams that requested tournament info later wrote to tell me they could not participate due to league game conflicts.

There are now 14 teams confirmed and I am waiting for confirmation from a 15th. That leaves only 1 or 2 spots. Coaches please contact me ASAP if you would like to participate.

After a couple of additions and a couple of drops we are still at 14 teams. I have put together a schedule with 14 teams but I can still adapt it to include 16 teams. Coaches, please contact me at xavier-rimrocker@hotmail.com by the end of the week. After that, we will finalize things with the current number and no additional spots will be opened.
