    NBA Lockout Empty NBA Lockout

Post by petro Wed Oct 05, 2011 12:24 pm

NBA owners have conceded from their initial stance down to a 50/50 split... and the players want more???

I think it's ridiculous that players would want more than 50% of generated revenue.

Both sides need to bargain in "good faith"... one side is clearly not!

The older I get the more I am turned away from the game... if this lockout continues and the players are not bargaining in good faith... the NBA could lose fans like MLB did... especially in these poor economic times... because we know it's way worse in the U.S. than hear in Canada.

Interesting to see if either side blinks as the clock continues to tick down and the two protagonists seemingly entrenched in their opposing stances.Mad

NBA TV has been showing retro games for the last couple of months. The games are not entirely representative as they are mostly all star and playoff games from the 70s and 80s.

But what you notice about those games is that while the athleticism and conditioning of many of the guys is generally not on par with what we see today that the teamwork, skill levels and depth of talent are ahead of what we have now.

This is a watered down NBA with too many teams with only two or three really good players, and too many mediocre guys who make superstar calibre salaries. This labour dispute seems to indicate just how out of touch some of these guys are.
