Are they going to have a live feed like the senior tournament?

is justin jackson playing junior? if so he might be the deciding factor between Mt and Eastern.

I also heard MacNabb will be good this year, look for them to upset vaughan

I see on the post that Jaylen Poyser was the leading scorer for Carr. Is this correct?

I thought he was playing senior at Carr?

Are the Carr juniors afraid?....why is he playing in this junior tournament?

Afraid of whom? Having not lost in 3 years, that is a silly comment.

At this time, Jalen is playing junior. He did not play with the seniors at the Humber Classic.

Unfortunate. I heard Brebeuf wanted to pull out realizing the competition of the teams in the tourney.

#1 from Henry Carr is doing some serious damage.

Everyone knows that Vaughan and Carr are for real....this will be a great game...Carr should win though

Dunbarton vs. dyouville is up in the air......Dunbarton is coming off two bigs over over MT and Eastern and the championship at double blue tournament...I predicted the winner of St. Mikes-dyouville to make the final...so I think dyouville might upset Dunbarton

i perdict dyouville and carr in the finals it should be a good matchup

I heard Justin Jackson did not play in the Eastern vs Dunbarton game, but played in the first game. what happened?

St Mikes was without two of there big man in 2 games cuz of football they will have a full team at the MT tournament

Justin Jackson did play in the game against us and he is a fantastic baller. I think he must of blocked 5 to 10 shots during the game against Dunbarton and had many, many rebounds. He's going to be a great player!

Today we faced two well coached, talented teams in d'Youville, who play great defense (Carr only scored 54!) and Vaughan, who are a transition team with many talented scorers.

Many thanks to Coach Melnik for hosting a first class field and providing us with an opportunity to compete against some of the best players/teams in the province.

I heard that final was a back and forth game. I also heard that Carr hit some big trey balls to take a 7 point lead in the 4th and d'Youville could not recover.

Is it true that d'Youville missed many ft down the stretch that might of cost them the game?

First of all a big thanks to Coach Melnik and the Henry Carr Crusaders for holding a solid tournament that ran seamlessly!

The finals was an exciting one with the lead changing several times thoughout the game. Our team did miss a ton of free throws all game and especially down the stretch. But who knows if it would have changed the outcome. I believe the final score was 54-49 as the last basket was not recorded. Anyways, it was a great tournament to start the year.

So did Justin Jackson play on both Friday & Saturday?

From what I've heard through the grapevine is that Justin Jackson only played the one game against MT and then left to go play a tournament with his rep team. Any opinions on that?

Also heard that the St. Mikes football players did play in the first game against dyouville but not in the second and third against Beal and Eastern.

Mt down 2-3 players? confirm?

Justin did play both days as my players who had many shots blocked by him would attest to. I noticed that he spent more time on the bench in the last game against MacNab than he probably usually does, for whatever reason.

Hey Coach, I did watch a little more than a quarter in your game against Eastern, and he was not on the floor or the bench. That was another player they had that is the same heigth as justin (6'6-6'7)

MT tourney next week will be intense as the good teams know what to expect.

To all the coaches who have posted on Hooptown or sent me emails, you are very welcome! It was another fantastic Jr Crusader Classic. Thank you all very much for making it happen.

It is our pleasure to host this event. The coaches, players, teams and fans make the tournament a worthwhile experience. And I honestly have to say that every tournament we host, I am so proud of our student volunteers. I am not an easy person to work for, and they handle it so well. I am extremely proud of all of them!!

With respect to Justin Jackson, he only played in Eastern's first game versus Mother Teresa. I believe he was at an AAU tournament with YAAACE.

Random thoughts…

The Eastern-Dunbarton game was probably the best game of the tournament, aside from the Championship Game. Vaughan, Dunbarton, MacNab and Eastern, are all very good teams, who will only get better as the season progresses.

With respect to the final…d’Youville did a phenomenal job defensively, not to disrespect their offensive game. Their coaching staff and players are to be commended. Their game plan was well thought out and well executed. Like Coach Deighan said, “Carr only scored 54 points!” I thought Josiah Riley and especially Keshon Montaque were the key players for d’Youville, although their efforts were truly team based. This team is not just solid, they are exceptional!

Althought Henry Carr was victorious, I think their potential is tremendous. Knowing the coaching staff and the players’ work ethic, I expect them to get back in the gym and iron out some kinks. Although their work is cut out for them, and without being boastful, I think they will give us some special performances this season.

Geez, I was led to believe that the big fella with slightly red dyed hair that gave us trouble was J.Jackson. EC is blessed with a whole bunch of talented big men.

That "Big Red" was Kevin Hamlet of Eastern. Justin Jackson is a whole other beast.
