Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Dec 14
Great four days of quality ball at St. Mikes, with some shifting of the rankings as a result. Most likely Vaughan from #2 to #1, Carr from #1 to #2. Oakwood should be dropping down to #7 behind Pine Ridge who should maintain their spot at #6. Pickering now in the top 15 with their win over #9 Holy Trinity and 4 pt. loss to #14 St. Mercellinius. Possibly Emery to drop out of the top 15 with their significant losses to #2 Vaughan (30+ pts.) and #9 Holy Trinity (20 pts). Strong showing by Ashbury (Ottawa). The picture is getting a little clearer as teams compete over the next two months for their spots at OFSAA.

Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Dec 14
Why should Pine Ridge stay at the six spot when they beat #3 Oakwood by 14 points? PR lost to number #5 St. Mikes and #1 Henry Carr. Those are two teams PR already lost to and are ranked ahead of them Also, the fourth ranked team Thornlea also lost to Bishop Reding. So Pine Ridge should move up to #4 or #5 not stay at the six spot. Thornlea and Oakwood should drop behind Pine Ridge. Bishop Reding had some bad losses at the University of Windsor Tournament but maybe are on the right track again with this win over Thornlea. BR should move past West Humber for sure and maybe should be slotted behind Oakwood.

Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Dec 14
LOL why would Carr move to #2 knowing they are 2-1 vs Vaughan? FHC has lost in OSBA, USA, nowhere else until Sunday. With minimal tournaments remaining due to exams, league games/playoffs Vaughan would stay at #1?
We are holding these rankings are true standards when they arent. Losses or tight games vs teams out of GTA dont get recognized as much, especially in Jr.
Does OFSAA use these rankings as a template into seeding or overall record?

Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Dec 14
At the end of the day, the seeding committee will determine the seeds at OFSAA. I'm sure they look at rankings such as this one but look at other criteria to ultimately make their decision. They look at things such as overall record, your head to head record against other OFSAA participant teams, signature wins, bad losses and if you are a regional winner or a second berth team.

Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Dec 14
Some clarification for Gnganinja. Please keep in mind that a winning record vs. another team does not automatically mean they would be ranked ahead of them. Factors such as when these games were played, point differential, game site and any special circumstances such as injuries and/or line-up changes are all relevant in ranking. At the end of the day what matters is how the OFSAA seeding committee will seed these teams, assuming these teams make it to OFSAA! Will it be Vaughan or Thornlea that will come out of York Region? Will it be Father Henry Carr or another TDCAA team that represents the Toronto Catholic board? There are absolutely no guarantees in the game of basketball. What's on paper and what has transpired is irrelevant. There's a ton of basketball still left to be played and anything can (and has) happened!

Roch now 6-0 with 81-59 over Sandalwood Heights
DY will be 6-1 after they beat Louise Arbour (0-6).
Fridays matchup of Roch @ DY will be a battle for 1st in Peel North. I can see Roch boys will desperately avenge that odd blowout loss from Rimrocker. DY will have no more league games and only loss was to Ste. Famille
