I Don't think Martingrove will make it that far, I believe St Matts probally has this tourney on lock.

well apparently it's not the traditional ,
1 vs. 16 , 2 vs. 15, 3 vs. 14 .....and so on

so is the brackets going to have,
(top 4) Vaughn and Martingrove in the same side??? and St.Mathew's and Loyola in the same side??

The brackets are the same way as they have been for many years. The 1-16, 2-15, etc. aren't until the second round. Since the second round is the winners of the first round facing the losers of the first round, they need this format to set up the second round. Of course, if there is a first round upset, the match-ups will be different.

so you are saying ....assuming there is no upsets:

(top4) it's going to be St.Mathews vs. Martingrove and Vaughn vs. Loyola

(note: ASSUMING.....their are a lot of potential upsets --Emery, Orchard Park, ect..)
this is an Ontario tournament of Champions so even #16 is good and should be respected for wining their Championship

Does anyone hear no anything about St Matthews roster and how they have played this year, or is this all based on the fact they are picked as #1 seed. If anyone can show me their results or lineup at least it would be appreciated.

St Matt's from Ottawa has been regarded all year as one of the best teams in the province. They won the Gold at this year's Silver Fox in Hamilton beating teams such Assumption (Burl), St. Thomas Aquinas (Oak), Henry Carr (Tor), D'Youville (Brampton), and the best that Hamiton had to offer.

St. Matt's has 3 studs at 6'6, 6'4, and 6'3, and a pair of smallish guards that can light it up from outside. They are not very deep and usually only play 6 players during tough games, but the 6 that they do play are all tough and fundamentally sound players that can do it all. They are not a flashy or overlly athletic team but they are disciplined and skilled. Their main players can all handle the ball and hit shots out to 3 point land, while their bigs are tough, aggressive, and extremely hard working. Unless they are injured or get into foul trouble, they should be keeping the AAA gold in Ottawa.

Looks like Vaughan is looking at another silver.

Vaughan is a very good team who, as you know, lost in the AAA final last year to Ottawa St. Pat's. I wish them all the best in this year's Ofsaa, but St. Matt's is the heavy favourite. Although, you never know, anything can happen - that's why they play the games!

NO the loyola from oakville!

The same Loyola that beat Assumption in playoffs, St Matts and STM in Catholic Cup, and STA in Catholic Cup Qualifier.

This tournament isn't as clear cut as everyone thinks. I personally don't have a clue but I will happily take Vaughan to win it all and hope for the same.

First Round Scores:

St. Davids from KW beat Loyola 72-62.

St. Matt's beat St. Joseph 62-38.

Vaughan beat Kingston 78-45.

Loyola, two and out. I think their winning streak has run out. They are a young team and that may have been a factor when you get to the big dance. They will more than likely be there again next year. Time to see the Nations Capital (Parliament buildings, Rideau Canal etc.)

Have they eliminated the friendship/consolation games?

I don't see friendship games listed on any of the Ofsaa schedules. Once you lose after the 2nd round, you're done (unless it's a semi's loss, then you play for bronze).

I see them listed for A OFSAA in Cornwall but that's it.
