Once again the kids from Hoop Factory Elite Canada proved that they are a forced to be reckoned with in the international game. Playing a very physical Sabonis Kaulus team from Lithuania on April 23, 2009 team Hoop Factory responded blow for blow and stood their ground through each quarter. Point guard Kevin Pangos led the way with 21 points and 9 assists, while constantly putting pressure on the the Sabonis defense by attacking the basket and creating opportunities for his teammates through his penetration. According to assistant coach Radcliffe Golbourne “ Kevin was instrumental in setting the tempo early for what we wanted to do offensively by collapsing the defense and making the right pass” Pangos wasn’t the only one that understood the game plan. Nick Lewis dialed from long distance with 19 pts while Jonathan Alexander chipped in with 18 spectacular points of his own with numerous dunks over Sabonis defenders.
Hoop Factory Elite Canada now begins preparation for their Quarter Final opponent, powerhouse Pau Orthez from France.
