Next Christmas, the Crusaders have committed to the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina!

Henry Carr Takes 6th Place at the Arby's Classic in Tennesse Empty Game by Game Recap

Post by Henry Carr Basketball Fri Jan 01, 2016 5:43 pm

This is a brief recap of our results at the 2015 Arby's Classic:

    Game One
    Urspring Academy (Germany) 71
    FHC 56 (Shae Linton Brown 17, Carlo Dubria 14, Shamar Bailey-Decoteau 10)

    Game Two
FHC 74 (John Akende 13, Carlo Dubria 13)
    Union HS (Virginia) 50

    Game Three
FHC 92 (Shae Linton Brown 16, Carlo Dubria 15, Shamar Bailey-Decoteau 14, Dan Kazumba 10)
    Christian Academy Knoxville (Tennessee) 57

Game Four - 6th Place Game
    FHC 77 (Shae Linton-Brown 19, Shamar Bailey-Decoteau 15, Mychael Paulo 15, Carlo Dubria 12)
    Mentor HS (Ohio) 61

Any success or lack thereof is truly TEAM oriented.  We perform as a TEAM.

FHC averaged 75 points per game, while giving up 60 points per game.

Shamar Bailey-Decoteau was named to the prestigious All Tournament Team.  He had back to back “double-doubles” in our last two games and averaged 11.75 points/game & 9.75 rebounds/game for the tournament. Making this selection must have been difficult, because Carlo Dubria (14.75 points/game) & Shae Linton-Brown (14.5 points/game) were also in contention!

Because Viking Hall is a massive colosseum, game one is always an ugly shooting game.  It takes one game to get accustomed to the depth and vastness of the gym.  Not taking anything away from Ursrping Academy, which is a European-style prep school in Germany, but that was their second game.  They also shot very poorly in their first game, but were able to get a victory.

Taking 6th Place at an elite American high school tournament is an accomplishment.  Our best result at the Arby's Classic was 5th place in 2005, where we won our first game, lost our second game, then won the last two.

Happy New Year and best wishes to everyone!
