2009 adidas Early Bird Classic at Father Henry Carr

This event will run Thursday, November 12th to Saturday, November 14th.

The cost of admission is $2 for Students with School Identification and $5 for Adults or Students without School Identification. Students refers to elementary and secondarly students.

The field of teams will be released later this week...stay tuned!!!

Do not count out Loyola who won the Constalation championship last year, as well as Vaughan who should be strong...any word on St. Patrick's roster?

I would hesitate to even guess. Its seems the "big" schools have all lost quite a bit. How much has not been fully disclosed. They will always be up there because of the quality of their coaching and the depth of their programs.

Martingrove appears to return a large part of their lineup so they should be in the mix. Beal is a strong program as is St. Patricks.

I will not be brave enough to venture a seeding since I would be guessing at the relative strength of these teams. I know one thing it should be a very competitive tournament.

I agree Coach Clement, that is why I am asking for input. I want to have balanced pools to be fair to everyone.

We have lost several players, BUT we are still very deep. We will certainly miss the student-athletes that have graduated and moved on to other schools, but I am very pleased with the character, skill level, and work ethic of the current Crusaders.

Thanks for being honest. It wont be easy to seed the teams. I hope we get it right!

Does anybody know if Matthew Wright from Martingrove is returning? please provide this info. This tourney looks like a strong and exciting one to watch this year. I would like to see Carr go all the way back to the finals along side pickering which was a very interesting final to watch last year. But I do got some sleeper teams that have the potential to make noise in this years tourney. For some reason I've always loved the style of play of Silverthorn. They were always a simple, fundamental squad that were down in games and suddenly creeped their way back into games and come out with a win. I dont know if Big John is still coaching over there but I got them to do some damage along side Mother Teresa & Loyola.

Graduated? Did those players graduate from Henry Carr?

Some seniors graduated and moved on to college, the other underclassmen have moved on to other high schools/prep schools.
