wow wow wow and woww.. Who ever made this is either scared or stupid.. How are you gonna have 3 really good teams which is Pool B in one Pool. All those 3 teams last year were the top 4 teams in 3A OFSAA. You may as well made another pool with your school Carr,Pickering, and Mother Teresa. Thats just stupid!

The teams were seeded with recommendations from at least 4 coaches and a couple outside sources. Each seeding had FHC, Martingrove, Pickering and Mother Teresa as the top four, not necessarily in that order. Teams 5-8 were consistent as well, again not necessarily in that order. Same for teams 9-12. Also, take into account that several teams requested to play on specific days, which affects the seeding and the draw. I like the seeding and the pools, and I stand by them.

You also might want to consider that 3A OFSAA is a little bit different than 4A OFSAA....

Before we get too busy name calling, you need to get your facts straight. Only Vaughn and Martingrove from pool B qualified for AAA ofsaa last year. St. Pats did not qualify for ofsaa and did not even make the semis in the Ottawa board last year. They also lost their 2 key players in Shayok (who is now in Chicago I believe at a prep school) and Anthony (graduated). Personally, I think the seeding looks fine with each pool having two top teams and a team that can compete if those teams are not careful. I think the top four teams as mentioned earlier will advance regardless of the make up of the pools (assuming that they do not get placed together in a pool) so the make up of the pools beyond that is not going to make that much of a difference. If I was ranking the teams, I would say Martingrove is #4 and Vaughn is #5 so it makes sense for them to be in the same pool. I understand that Martingrove has 4 of their 5 starters back, but until they start doing it on the court this year, we have to base a lot on last year when ranking a preseason tournament. Mother Theresa, Pickering, and FHC all had better teams then and produce quality teams year in and year out. If Martingrove wants more respect then this is their opportunity to earn it.

I have to agree with Coach Melnik and coachc on this one. These groups seem pretty fair and balanced. There are really 2 teams in each division that could win that pool, but remember... the games are played on the court.. not on paper... so wait till the game are played.

As for the difference between 4A and 3A OFSAA... there is obviously a difference... could the top teams at 3A compete with teams at 4A... probably... St Matts did beat Carr last year at the Silver Fox... but I think for the most part 4A is a much more competitive tournament from top to bottom.

Also agree! This is an elite tournament with a very strong field and there are going to be tough pools.

Coach Melnik requested input but he didn't get a ton. People cannot then turn around and criticize.

    Good job, Coach!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Thorlea has been forced to withdraw. Oakwood has been extended an invite.

Oakwood with Beal and Pickering makes for one tough pool.

I realize that its not by design its the situation with Thornlea dropping out that created this. There will be some good basketball on display for sure!

Pool C looks amazing and will definately have some hard fought games. But with Oakwood entering, who do you think will leave the tournament as champions??
