Such a shame that these two tournaments (along with Seneca) are the same week. There are so few top-calibre girls tournaments in the GTA; it's in everyone's best interest to spread them out.

Both of these results are somewhat of a surprise to me.
I would have thought the Notre Dame vs Dunbarton would have been a closer game
Campion upsetting Pickering is a bit of an upset.
Any game reports ????
Looks like any of the top 16 can beat another top 16 on any given day.

Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Released October 13th
Talking to some coaches, I don't know if Campion over Pickering is really an upset. As a league, it's starting to look like Peel is stronger/deeper than any other league in the GTA this year.

Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Released October 13th
I use the word "upset" based upon the rankings.
With Pickering coming off their victory over Notre Dame, and with Campion losing to Cardinal Leger. It appeared Pickering was moving up the rankings and Campion arguably down.
As for the strongest region, now that can be debated till we're blue in the face.
But I will say again based upon the results so far, it appears any Top 16 team can beat any other Top 16 team on any given day.
So there doesn't appear to be one dominant team this year in the GTA.
Which by the way, I believe is better for developing basketball players in Ontario.

Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Released October 13th
I actually had the pleasure of taking in some girls game at the Scarborough Tournament at Hoopdome today. Some really good basketball going on. Watched Father Goetz vs #4 Pickering and the game was close all the way to the end. Goetz won by 5! I don't think it was an upset, they are both two strong teams but Goetz deserves to jump in that top 16(honourable mention presently) for sure! Coach P really kept her players in check and pumped to maintain an early lead throughout the whole game.

well if you think Father Goetz should be in top 10 where do u think Senator Oconnor should be??? they were beating Father Goetz by 7 at one point and ended up losing by 12!!!! there are alot of teams that r on the top 16 that i BELIEVE should not be there...

Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Released October 13th
You could be right baby. I actually corrected my statement. I meant the Top 16. At the moment they are honourable mention. No quams against Oconner's program, its good. Just going off of the history of Goetz in girls basketball in the city, and over the years, they've always been a strong program.

Re: HooptownGTA's Super 16 - Released October 13th
Well true, thats what i mean there are lots of school that are trying to get good sports teams programs but still not as good as other schools like Eastern and Thomson but never get recognition for it. How does the top 16 get ranked? is there a poll or is it one mans opinion??
