SBA Shootout Empty SBA Jr. Tourney

Post by coachalkins Sun Feb 07, 2010 9:09 pm

The Vaughan Family would like to thank the SBA organizaion and Hoopdome for running such an efficient and well organized event.
We would like to especially thank Stewart Kerr and Ted Badner and his staff for their tireless contribution in making this another successful event this season. Congratulations to Troy and Henry, they have been working on their game constantly and it was great to have an opportunity to showcase their hard work this weekend. I must not forget to mention Shandon and Tristan with their huge contributions this tournament and this season. It was an entire team effort, having to play 6 games in 2 days.

Allan MacNabb were worthy opponents in the Championship game and we were impressed with their disciplined playing style.
We hope to see more of them next season in the GTA considering the entire team exept for one player will be returning.

We wish everyone success on all levels as they head into playoffs, both at the junior and senior levels.

Coach Alkins, do you by any chance know the names of that key player on the Allan MacNabb orange jersey team and the Newtonbrook black jersey team as you faced both of them in pool play I believe?

They were two quite competitors as they never gave up and kept their teams heads up even when down by a rather large margin.

By the way, congratulations on winning the tournament and nice tournament for Henry and Troy in the finals. Wish your team all the best in their playoffs and GTA Junior Boys Championships.

saints11, I know for certain that #51 is Francis Kiapway, not sure about #10. I will check the Scoresheet for you. Both teams you mentioned were very competitive. It has been a long season and we hope to build momentum going into the playoffs. We never take any team lightly.
Thank you for the encouragement. We are still a young a growing program and every year is a positive learning experience for all of us at Vaughan.
